I post essential questions and objective, but need to work on referring back to it during the lesson and changing the learning objective. Putting them in student friendly language is very important. This breaks down the TEK in easier terms.

I post my targets on one board and if they forget what they are learning they can look at the board at all times.

Although the skill may be the "game", I still need to scaffold the learning target.

Yes, my students know what they are learning based on my learning targets. I read the learning target out loud while students write it down in their notebooks. We then underline important vocabulary together. Students turn and talk about the learning target and the underlined vocabulary. Then we come back together and share as a whole group. I refer to the LT during the lesson and at the end. Sometimes if we have the same LT on a different day, it's just a review for them when they talk about the LT at their tables. They can also use their notes while talking about the LT if they need to.

Learning targets are always on the board for each of the things we do in ELAR. We read it at the beginning of the lesson and we talk about it at the end of the lesson during our closure. The next day I might say: Remember that yesterday we learned __? Well, today we are going to __.
