Showing Suspense

The author showed suspense because in the text it said " In this kingdom by the sea" and he keeps repeating it so repetition is one of his techniques on how he builds suspense. Another example in the text that shows him building suspense is when it says " So that her high-born kinsman came And bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulchre In this kingdom by the sea" he used a big word that we might not know so using vivid words is another one of his techniques on how he shows suspense.

This is showing suspense because in the text it was saying that the killer could still hear his heart beating even though the old man was dead and we didn't know what he would do also it was building suspense when he would go into the old mans room in the middle of the night when he was sleeping because we don't know what he is going to do or when he was going to kill him.
