One day i was on a trip with friends. After one of our activities we needed to wash up but were far from our hotel. So we went to mcdonald's to use the bathroom. We did not want to be mean so we went to the counter and just bought a drink, fries, and a burger. We left thinking nothing of it. We started to leave but came across a man on the streets who was dirty and homeless. We then walked up to him and started to talk. We where all super hungry but he was even more hungry then we were. So we all decided that he needed the meal. He was the one that was hungry when we would go and eat later. He was so greatful. That made me feel happy. At the same time the song "its time for us to do something" was on and we know that it was the right thing to do.

Money for the needy

One day i was in Chicago to see my brother's volleyball game to realize how many people were on the streets. I told my dad if I could do anything about it. He replied to me like what. I said that we can give food money. It just so happens that before this we had many groceries in our car because of how we just went. Me and My dad and the other siblings in the car took some of our groceries and went around giving a solid five people on the streets some money and a little bit of our food. When we did this it made me realize how privileged we really our. By just a bag of chips and a couple of dollars the reaction of the stranger was priceless. It made my month even. To see how excited one person could get by just a bag of chips really told me something to never take anything for granted because their is always someone out their who would die to have something that you believed was a nothing. People, Food, Money, and Even Family. Never treat them in a way you shouldn't have because if you do think about if they were never their. The Chromebooks that we carelessly brake everyday the hot lunch that we get every Thursday to the bed that we ever so carelessly sleep on every night. Their will always be someone out their that doesn't even come close to your everyday schedule. When you think about the people in the word who cant even afford the peanut butter sandwiches that we have everyday makes me think this sandwich that I am eating right now is something that would give a person who hasn't eaten in day a meal that they would appreciate for quite a while.

Every year towards the holiday time, my family and I, make a donation to the poor. This year, I asked my mom what we were going to donate this year. She told me that we were going to donate things like: a toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, etc. I realized that it is really sad that thing that the things that I just rely on to be at my house, when some people don't even have these. Then, I noticed that a lot of people don't even have a home, food, bed, and money. Then, I started to be more thankful for everything I have: house, loving family, food, and an education.

One day, me and some of my friends were at Snackers, and we were all waiting in line. We all knew what we were going to order, and each of us had around 35 dollars on us. There was absolutley no way each of us would use thirty-five dollars on our meal. We just brushed this thought aside, and it wouldn't hurt if we came home with some change. All of a sudden, a lady with two kids who looked to be about 4-5 years old said, "I'm a few dollars short." We watched for a minute. She seemed like a person who was less fortunate than us. She was arguing with the clerk to try to convince him to let her buy it anyway, but he wouldn't have it. Finally, I asked everybody to give me 2.50$. The five of us and our twelve and a half spare dollars went up to the woman and put the money on the register. She looked at us and said, "Thank you so much guys, you really didn't need to do that... I'll give you the change." We told her to keep the change, we didn't really need it. The five of us ordered, ate, than walked out.

It was my second year at camp and I was in a pretty awesome cabin. I had two friends to keep me company and other people that I had just met. The first day was normal and only one member of our cabin was not present. Thirty minutes passed and finally he was here. He had crutches and suffered from a disability. I met him and we talked for a long time, he was a cool dude. Two normal days passed at camp and I had yet noticed that my friend with crutches was not able to participate at fun activities during camp. I soon realized that I needed to keep him company. During a intense game of capture the flag I saw him sitting a bench alone. I hopped out of the game and sat next to him. We talked until the game was over and I could tell that he needed some company that day.

Once upon a time, in this magical place called a school, a person was in need. I was walking to first period and I saw a person. They dropped their books. I helped this person pick up their books. There were papers everywhere on the floor. I helped put them back in it's binder. Even though I was late to my next class I felt good because I helped someone. This made me feel good as well as the other person for the rest of the day. REMEMBER TMSFGAWAY

I guess it isn't as big as helping the poor or visiting a soup kitchen or anything like that, but one time, maybe two weeks ago, I saw a girl struggling to keep her books in order in the hallway, and sure enough she dropped her pencil case. Pencils rolled everywhere and I noticed that nobody had stopped to help her out. I was right next to my next class, so I thought "I got time, why not go help her." I walked over to her and started to help her pick up her pencils/assorted papers. Once we had picked up all the different things off the ground, she flashed me a smile worth a thousand words, and then said "Thank you." I walked to my next class feeling a little better about myself and actually that explerience helped me to start doing good deeds more.

One day when I was with my family in Wisconsin there was this homeless man that was outside of the church that we went to on Sunday. He asked many people that were going to their cars to go home. The man was begging people to give him money so that he can go buy something. I wanted to give him money because I didn't know if he would actually use the money wisely, so instead I went the car and I found my bag of potato chips and a fresh apple. I came up to him and him face was all bright when he saw the apple and the chips in my hands. I gave him the apple and the chips, he thanked me and my family when we gave him the food. I never knew that someone could be so exited when they only get a bag of chips and an apple. This really changed my whole day. This means that we should be happy with what we have right now in our lives, that we have food and clothes and a house, because others don't have anything that we have.

So even though i am not physically doing anything like cooking a meal for the homeless their are different ways to help. Every time I go to a grocery store, I always see people ringing bells for the salivation army. The salvation army is a foundation where you can donate money or things to people who are in need. Sometimes $5 dollars can restore someones hope! So this was exactly my mission this December. Every time i saw a salvation army donation center I would give some of my own money. Whether I can see the people's faces or not I know that the money I gave are going to give people basic necessitates just to keep them on their feet. Overall I believe one small bit of kindness can turn's someone's life around forever!

This is the annual christmas food pantry. I was working in the present section. It was very sad to see the people so excited about shampoo are a new toothbrush because we get things like that on a regular day. There was a limit of a certain # of gifts a family could get. One family had lots and lots of kids and this boy did not get a gift and was not about to open anything on christmas. Later I walk up to him witha huge package in my hand. I give it to him and he starts to cry. I ask him why and he says he had never opend a gift on cristmas. I felt so happy.

This was at the beginning of the school year. My friends locker couldn't open. She asked so many people for help and she always got late to class because its been happening to her locker a lot for the past couple of days. One time on my way to class in the afternoon, she asked for my help. I wanted to but at the same time I thought I'd be late. I decided I wanted to because well, she was one of my friends and I didn't want to feel bad for her. It took me a while to start opening it. I asked her if she didn't know her combination or her locker was just jammed. She didn't tell me which answer, she just told me she couldn't open it. It took me a few minutes to open it and I finally did. She thanked me and I felt happy to help her. It was great because I usually don't see her during the day. When it was time to go to class, we did. I ended up being tardy to class and my teacher asking why,but that was okay. It didn't really matter being late. Helping someone out is always the right thing to do because you don't want to leave the other person hanging. To me, it was worth being late to class because helping someone out can be a huge difference and can make their day :)

And most of the McClure Avengers got together and made food for families in Africa. Just by doing it made feel happy and made picture of a bunch of smiling faces getting the food that we packed into bags for them. We Avengers had a lot of fun we told jokes and had some laughs. But most of all it was feeding those in Africa who dearly need of food to survive and to live their life to the fullest.

It feels really good at the end when the owners tell us how many people we can feed with the food me made and how many people we helped! It makes me feel really good that I am capable of helping the world with their problems. Feed our starving children is one of my favorite places to go, I love the amazing feel good feeling when you leave. I think that millions of people should do this. Who wouldn't want to help the world be fed. There should be millions of FMSC everywhere so anyone can help.

One day my friend was looking really sad. She was in a fight with another friend, there wasn't any room for her to sit at her lunch table. So she had to sit alone at another table. So I saw how disappointed she looks so I went and sat with her and it was really fun and I can't imagine if I didn't sit with her. If she just sat there. I don't really think is is something outstanding, but It made me feel good and I bet it made her feel good also.

My friend, who was mean, said to me not to give him money. He claimed it was a waste. He was very selfish. Anyways, I reached into my pocket and all I had was a dime. I wish I had more, but I gave the dime to the man anyways. It felt good to donate just the slightest. :)

With the stuff that i buy i wrap up and sometime on Christmas day i go and give those presents or food and water to homeless people or family's who cant afford to have toys and food on Christmas. So this year i have already bought all of the gifts and food for the homeless or others who cant afford to buy food or things for their children.

So what you do is, you pick up a piece or pieces of paper which have ages and genders on it, and you have to get a present for that child. And there are no rewards for any of this, not that there would be, but there doesn't need to be because while you are shopping for a 3 year old girl´s christmas present, all you can think about how good you feel and how excited this 3 year old girl is going to be when she opens it.

It's a small thing to do, and it's a tiny act of kindness, but my mom has always told me it made his day. I did this when I was in first-second grade, because he retired in 3rd. My mom would always attempt to grow flowers in or front and backyard, but because they were so pretty I always picked them and gave them away. The mailman was also very polite to me, and treated me like an adult, which is why I chose him. It's a funny story to tell now, looking back on it! It was very kind of me to do this though.

One day with my friend Julia, we went to feed my starving children. We went there over thanksgiving break to do something for the people in places like Haiti that dont have much food or healthy food. We worked on making around 18,000 packages of food that were packed with vitamins so that people in Haiti would have food and would not starve. We ended up reaching are goal (there was about 200 of us) and we made 18,000 packages. That makes me happy because I was able to give something during thanksgiving that others are not fortunate enough to have.

Last year I went to an event where you packaged food for countries that don't have a lot of food. We packed rice into bags and then put the bags into boxes where we could then ship them out to different countries. We had to get the rice, weigh the bags, and then seal the bags with a certain machine. I knew that the food I packaged was going to someone who neeeded it. The different groups competed to see how many bags they could package in the couple hours. Although my group didn't win, we still packaged a lot of rice. I learned about the importance of giving back. Overall, it was a fun experience and I hope to do it soon.

It was particularly the west side of Chicago. And here we worked on a garden for the community by the community. and I felt really good after because the feeling after doing something nice is very good and also I went to a soup kitchen. There we made and gave food to people there at the shelter. And it felt really good to do something nice.

About 2 years ago, my sister, my dad, and myself went to a factory with a bunch of people to help out people that desperately need food in certain places like Africa and many others. So we were all separated into groups, and we were given jobs for example we had to pack the rice or to put the other grains into the bags of food that were going to be delivered to places like Africa. To make this fun, everyone there would compete to see if which group could pack and wrap the most boxes of food by the end of the night. So, we obviously all had a good time doing this for a good cause by helping the ones that can't help themselves.

Every year, I try to find some clothes that I don't wear anymore, or that don't fit me, and donate them to people who are in need. However, my YC group for my church is collecting clothes that you no longer need or use, and will be donating them to a charity. So this is perfect! There are children in the world that aren't as fortunate as we are, so it is very important to help them. We all have extra clothing in our homes that aren't being used and they could definitely be going to charity for better use than just laying in your closet. Especially during the winter time, children and families need the warmth. After I donate to those in need, it always makes me feel really good about myself, because I know that I'm doing the right thing. So think about this, and donate all those clothes in your closet that you don't use, and make someone happy.

Every year I snow blow for my 101 year old neighbor. For the past few weeks I have not charged her any money for my services. I think this is a very good act of kindness by me because she cannot do this herself. I think this is very kind because me not charging her may give her more money for food. I think that as a kid I just do this for the money. But I looked beyond that I tried doing it for free and I think that I have been very good about it. I am also doing her lawn. She used to have a service that charged her lots of money but I am doing for 30 dollars less.

In 3rd grade, we went on a field trip to Chicago, and I gave all of my money for lunch to a person who needed money for college, and a couple homeless people. (They were so kind and thankful.)
