In 9th grade, I thought I was a great writer, but my teacher made me realize how much more I needed to learn. I bombed the class. Then I moved up to 10th grade and got Mrs. Avila. She significantly improved my writing capabilities, and I now consider my writing skills to be my greatest scholastic strength. In 12th grade, I had my 9th grade teacher again and was able to show off my improved writing skills and aced the class. To be honest, even though I am a math teacher, I wasn't a huge fan of math in high school, I was just good at it.  I liked him as a teacher because of his personality.  He was funny and entertaining and made it enjoyable.
