Event

The 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) of the United Nations on Climate Change is being held between November 6 and 18 in Egypt in a context marked by the prevalence of extreme weather events around the world, the energy crisis derived from the war in Ukraine and the scientific consensus that the Paris Agreement will be difficult to achieve if we continue with the current rate of emissions.

After last year's summit in Glasgow, the different countries agreed to make concrete commitments to respond to the climate crisis and update their national mitigation and adaptation plans with more ambitious measures adjusted to the scale of the problem. However, only 23 of 193 countries have updated their plans.

What challenges does this year have?
The COP27 presidency hopes that this summit will serve to “move from negotiations to planning the implementation of the promises and commitments made.”

In addition, it is expected that the conference will serve to reach important agreements on international financing for the fight against climate change. Intense negotiation is expected over payments known as “loss and damage.” These payments would be a compensation measure for developing countries, which suffer the most from disasters derived from climate change, on the part of rich countries, the largest emitters of greenhouse gases.

Relationship between COP27 and the 2030 Agenda
On September 25, 2015, world leaders from 193 countries defined the 2030 agenda, made up of 17 interrelated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that represent a call from the United Nations to transform our world towards prosperity. of people and the planet.

Plans

In the summer of 2035, the world will witness an unprecedented climate phenomenon: there was several days of another solar storm that had a middle heats wave and unusual sky appearance (red, violet, green) . This deadly heat wave is not just about the confusion and fear of the population, but mostly about the local condition of over 50°C during the daytime the extreme heat during the night. What will be dying out would be flora and fauna and they won’t be all killing the ecosystem or hospitals and overwhelming them with their piling bodies. By the end of the century, won't face catastrophic conditions: no one will be redistributed, many won't be impoverishing, and farming and agriculture won't be mourned. One thing will surely become the best emphasis of this challenge, which is that cooperation of the entire world is vital in order to effectively tackle climate change and seamlessly add up to the new reality together.

YARITZA MACIAS

Our judgement is going to initiate a series of policies and sops that will result in the reduction of CO2, CH4, and NOx emissions. This is going to be done by shifting to renewable (solar and wind) sources as well as energy conservancy all toward to every sector. Another measure that we are going to implement is the conservation and revival of natural ecosystems including forests, wetlands, and coral reefs. These systems act as a key resource in decision-making which absorbs and stores carbon and also provides a usual ecosystem service such as protection from disasters and the regulating climate. Moreover, we are going to educate the public concerning the dangers and outcomes of climate change and what they can do as individuals and at the level of the community for the coming into play of such effects.

YARITZA MACIAS

the challenge of artificial intelligence development promises to occupy a very substantial part of our concerns in the future. Such AI will not be the bunt of lesser than human intelligence and may likely carry out unforeseen actions to which humans cannot hold ransom or canot even imagine. In case world leaders do not mindfully regulate the birth and implementation of the AI, a chance arises that AI will replace human goals and invaluable values.

The complex case, for example, is where an AI with super intelligence is given the task of seeking an optimal answer to a problem. But dealing with that task might as well lead to an unexpected and immense damage to Humanity. This could range from exhaustion of natural sources, leading to financial crisis, posing high risks for life on Earth.

Margarita Medina

In 2050 is the year where water scarcity reached its peak, generating a series of problems such as war for water, deaths due to dehydration, this occurs since 97,5% of 100% of the water on the planet is salt water and only 2,5% is fresh water. In the end, after so many studies in previous years, what was expected was reached, the rampant misuse that we give to water did not lead to this that harms us a lot since without fresh water there is no drinking water to cook our food, to calm our thirst and prevent dehydration.

Lozano López Angel Joel

They will live with constant fear and anguish of not knowing what to do. Some people will take the risk of leaving their hometown to look for a better place to live. This phenomenon will last 40 days and 40 nights where it will take society an eternity to have summer again the way it has always been seen.

Karolina Elaje

But at the beginning of 2082 people will see that the phenomenon that happened a year ago is being repeated, they will cry out for their hometown, but everything remains the same, putting them in a place where they all say they are abandoning their city, the city that was previously a color de rosas will be completely evicted and denying people access to it.

Karolina Elaje
