First of all, I would like to mention that my understanding of commercial banks is clearer, and I can explain the definition of the commercial bank more confidently compared to the past, in which I was confused about the difference between the commercial bank and other banks such as retail banking, which is one of its basic structure. For a layman like me, it is important to be able to differentiate these different banks' functions and ensure that I did not go to the wrong bank for certain purposes.

I also found out that Malaysia has 9 major domestic banks and 13 foreign banks in the commercial banking sector. Maybank, Public Bank, CIMB Bank are some examples of local commercial banks, and Citi Bank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank are some examples of foreign-owned banks in Malaysia. Other than that, there are some features of commercial banks that even though they are mass market-driven, but still their products are extended to small and medium-sized businesses. They have both physical (ATM) and online (internet and mobile banking) delivery model. Moreover, the organizational structure is a bit huge, but the basic structure of commercial banks are consists of commercial retail banking, corporate banking, treasury/ investment, and finally banking support. Moreover, as I know commercial banks are the banks where we normally do transactions done such as Maybank, Cimb Bank and so on. According to my perspective there are three reasons why we have different amounts for the first and second months. To begin, there is an increasing amount of Principal for every month. Second, we can observe that each month has a distinct number of days such as January have 31 days while February have 29 days. The total amount of interest received on February is less than January which is just RM 303.07, because the term of fixed deposit is less compared to January, where at February its only for 29 days and for January is 30 days.
As one of the principle of interest in fixed deposit calculation, the tenure (time period) plays major part in deciding the interest amount.
The more longer the time period of fixed deposit, the more the interest on fixed deposit received even the interest rates are given higher at a certain value, it's not gonna impact much on the interest amount.
On February the interest rate charged is higher than January because the banks to encourage many customers to make savings in term of fixed deposits.
