This collage shows my progress in the beginning of art one. The flower pot was one of my first drawings and you can see my flowers had no design or detail so then I made my smart goal to get better at drawing flowers which in the photo you can see was my last flower drawing where everything looked much better.

what I learned and practiced about line weight, contour, cross contour, and observational drawing was that when using these you can make a drawing look more realistic, 3D, and more defined.

What I learned from watching Heather Hansen's work was that art doesn’t have to be perfect lines and drawings with depth and shadow. Then we scribbled in class using crayons, colored pencils, and markers. What I did was use oil paints to scribble on my paper then went outside to do side walk chalk. What I learned about artistic thinking was that you don’t have to think hard about what to draw or how to draw it.

We learned that a still life is just a painting or drawing of items that are arranged in a certain order to make the main item pop out. Techniques for still life included light, shadow, perspective, composition, mediums, drawing, reflection, and color. The item I bought was my mini perfume bottle that I use everyday. My planning focused mainly on my perfume bottle but also included a lotion bottle.

I chose to draw a heart falling into the paper using line weight to show the heart going down into the paper. This was my first major art project for art 1. My critic pages showed that i was strong in technique and creative thinking but weak in blending and adding shadow.

My object was a perfume bottle that is a mini version of the one I use everyday my technique was too look at my object from my perspective and draw it the same way to make it even more realistic. I learned that I should know how much paper I have to make sure i’m drawing to match the paper and cover every area and my strong area was how much detail i put into my bottle.

In art 1 I have learned more about art than I have my whole life while still having fun with the people that sit next to me. I enjoy doing projects that we have days to draw and work on. Some goals i choose to work on are definitely about shadow and depth.
