The cardiac cycle begins with the atrium and ventricle in a relaxed, diastolic state. Blood flowing from veins passes through the sinus , the sino-atrial canal and the atrio-ventricular canal, filling the atrium and partially filling the ventricle. Atrial contraction (atrial systole) then follows, ejecting blood from the atrium to complete filling of the ventricle, which is still in diastole.

The cardiac cycle is a sequence of pressure variations that take place inside the heart, causing blood to flow through the various heart chambers and throughout the body. It is composed of two phases, each with an atrial and ventricular component: the diastole (relaxation phase) and the systole (contraction phase). Throughout the cardiac cycle, there is a significant fluctuation in the pressure within the chambers. Blood mostly moves in this way: the veins return deoxygenated blood to the heart and the arteries transport oxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs.

The cardiovascular system oxygenates blood and removes carbon dioxide from the body. As the cycle is continuous through breathing we breather in through our noses to so the oxygen goes to our lungs then to our heart to oxygenate our bloodstream then travels through the arteries to remove any carbon dioxide in the bloodstream as we breathe out our mouths

It consist of the hearts which helps in pumping blood to the body with the help of the arteries, arterioles, veins, venules and capillaries. Which carry out all different functions and are all linked together and helps in carrying oxygenated blood awayfrom and deoxygenated blood to the heart . Pulmonary artery is the only exception that takes oxygenated blood to the heart from the lungs and veins take deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs

The SAN is also a very important part of the heart also known as the pace maker which helps in sending electrical signals to the heart

An average heartbeat range is 60-100
