He was a social activist who played a big role in American civil rights movement. He wanted the blacks and whites to come together and have peace. Dr. King presented his "I have a dream" speech at the March of Washington in 1963. His dream was that his four sons could live in a nation and not be judged by their skin but by the content of their character. He wanted his sons and all the other African American children to be able to go to school with the white children and have peace. If Martin Luther King Jr. didn't make the change that he did the world would be completly different today. The schools would be divided by color. I have African american friends that i met in school. If Dr. King didn't make a change about blacks being treated equal and coming together and having peace with the whites then I wouldn't have the friends that I have today.
