I did research on a specific film festival that really caught my attention. The reason why it caught my attention was that I enjoyed learning about film festivals in a matter of themes and genres and because it is something I want to experience with my daughter. Being a young mother going to college I do not get invited out with friends because I always say no; no one ever really wants to spend time with toddlers so I am home most of the time. Learning about the themes and genres I got curious about them so I researched holiday festive festivals and there were not many of them. Then I researched children’s festivals and I was intrigued and surprised by how many were there and how they have these fascinating festivals for children. This is a film festival for people of all ages films that should bring joy to children as they watch and something positive. I as an adult have been depressed through the pandemic and would like to experience a festival like this with my daughter. As a toddler or any age child, I know that that they want to go out more often go back to school amusement parks, zoo, or even be out with friends and celebrate nice holidays. This year has been rough so I created a mini short film festival for children to enjoy with family and friends. It is a minute-long film I shared with my daughter and she can’t sit down for long periods of time. After each short film, I asked what she thought about the film. The link is from youtube because I found NYICFF film archives on there. My thought is wanting to watch something cute and unusual and learn that it’s okay to be different this is the film.
My daughter quotes “Why does the zebra not have stripes?” I told her to keep watching and explain that something happened to make the zebra change and she starts laughing. In the end, I told her if she liked it she said yes. I explained it is okay to be different and unique and to always be herself.

Growing up with love and music-making a big impact on a child, as it did on the boy in the short film. 
My daughter said, “music is important because it helps with school like the song ABC.”
Music is something that will always emerge because children start from lullabies to figuring out what is their favorite genre of music and it starts to become special.

My daughter said, “He made it to the moon and sold a lot of lemonade” her dream is to become a doctor I know it might change in the future but for right now I support her 110%. I know as children they have huge imaginations and are the most creative. Inspiring short film that I recommend.

There are film festivals that provide green screens for children to film themselves and also technology for them to learn about animation. These workshops would provide a great bonding experience and an awesome opportunity for the children to enjoy and experience new things.

The film also includes an audience that may have disabilities these service dogs are more than just service they are emotional supports and family.
Daughter thoughts “the dog tries so hard and is sad then happy”
She sees the joy that animals get from helping people and this girl thinks she could help people. Families need to cherish their whole family including their pets.

This film got an award in 2014 for "the Best Spanish short film animation". It is a beautiful heartwarming short film. It shows as children they shouldn’t be mean but kind to others no matter how they are or look. 
My daughter said, “why is not walking? The girl is nice.”
How the world is now everyone having battles in life kindness and compassion is key. Always show love for others because no one likes bullies and everyone deserves a friend.

I feel like this is a great example for children to learn that being patient and waiting can be a good thing. Great things come to those who wait and not rush. Sometimes rushing for something can mess things up for one or even cause a mistake.
My daughter laughed because she is the most impatient little girl.
I hope that she learns from watching this film that she should be more patient.

This is the type of journey I would like to attend. Something positive after all we have all been through this pandemic. Everyone goes through hard situations whether it is small or big it does mess with our lives. I learned a lot about programming and connecting with a certain audience.  I picked short films that would be directed towards a smaller age group and family. Programming and choosing films for a certain theme and audience must be the most important job in a film festival. I hope I get the chance to meet with programmers and attend a film festival in the future. I got to include a Q&A, activity, and awards. I was happy to work with my daughter and shared a bond over something I learned from a great professor.
