I think students often violate commandment #9. In this day and age many students actively use Chat GPT for many of their assignments, which takes away from their authentic and unique answers. In many schools, especially universities Chat GPT is prohibited and if a student uses it incorrectly to do their assignments that could lead them to academic probation. Therefore, the use of a platform such as Chat GPT does lead students to consequences.

I think these violations occur because many students do not want to put in time and effort into their assignments. Many students find Chat GPT to be an "easy A" on assignments that they do not feel like completing. Chat GPT has the ability to generate an answer to any question it is asked, giving students easy access to getting their assignments done correctly and swiftly without having to put any thought into it.

I think to reduce the amount of students using Chat GPT, there needs to be advanced systems that all schoolwork that is submitted virtually goes through. If a student is handwriting their assignment, but copying off of Chat GPT there should be a way that the paper can go through a scanner that detects AI. It could be difficult to detect AI especially if students move around words and/or phrases, but other precautions such as more online AI detectors or scanners can help reduce this unethical behavior.
