This is why I chose Percy because he is mostly the main character in al of Rick’s books. One trait I have for Percy is he is always kind. He treats people how he should get their respect back. He treats people nice because he knows it is the right thing to do. Never treat someone poorly no matter what the circumstances are. My last trait is Percy always is caring and helpful. He is helpful because he doesn’t want to be disrespected because that is the kind of guy he is. He just likes to make friends and he is very good at making friends but the real question is he good at keeping them. Well heck yeah he is. He likes to welcome people and help people out even though he/she doesn’t know who Percy even is. 1. In the book, "The City of Ember" the main character Lina shows the personality trait of protection towards her family. On page 81, the text states, "Don't worry sweetie, I've got you, and I promise I won't let this happen again." This text evidence is from the scene where Lina loses Poppy during a blockout because she was preoccupied with looking at colored pencils. Lina reassures her younger sister that she will no longer be careless to lose her. She consistently shows a protecting nature because her grandmother is losing her memory.

I think brave because when he got caught by the bad’s he decided to take them on, instead of giving them the coin. Zach and Kate got caught walking home from the theater by the bad’s. I know this because on page 138 it states “Zach wheeled and hit the guy who had reached for Kate with a elbow that caught him cleanly in the jaw”. This evidence shows that Zach is brave because, he didn’t know what to do so, he quickly reacted and hit the bad guy right in the jaw. 
     The second character that I think fits Zach is curious. I say this because Zach is curious about what happened to his dad. I know that this is one of his traits because on page 106 Zach finds out that his dads crash site was a couple miles away, so he went not even knowing what was going to happen. I said this because when Zach found out he was all exited to go and find some clues not knowing what was out there, especially the bad’s. Olive is brave because she found out that she can go through pictures and instead of ignoring the fact that she can go through pictures, she decides that she wants to go through the pictures and find out more. In the book it states “Olive leaned forward. Her face sank through the canvas, and then her shoulders, and before she could grab the frame to stop herself, her whole body toppled forward into the dark and chilly forest.” This quote from the text shows how she sees that she can go through pictures that are hung on the wall, and decides to go through one and be brave. 

Caring
Olive is caring because when she hears something is hurt she cares for them and go looks to help them. In the book it states “The dog was clumsily tied up with a few strings and wires, but it didn’t look hungry or thirsty or hurt. Olive supposed that dogs in paintings don’t get hungry very quickly anyway. He goes on adv. unprepared but still does good at it. One quote from the book is “ he for got to bring his fake crutch’s and that made it a little bit easier for him to get in.”  This quote makes him unprepared because he is already loosing track of stuff.

He is courages because he could run out and not contribute to anything but instead he faces the problem head on like when he goes off into the woods to look for drew when he had an injured leg and focused to heal his broken leg with magic. If he wasn’t courages he wouldn’t have saved drew and done magic for the first time.

     I think that Zack is brave because when he got fought by the bad’s he decided to take them on, instead of giving them what they wanted.  The bad’s wanted Zack to give them the coin that Zack’s dad gave him.  Zack did not give hime the coin, and took them on.  He won the battle.  I know this because on page 138 it states “ not really knowing how to do what he wanted to do, Zack wheeled hit the guy who had reached for Kate wraith and elbow that caught him cleanly in the jaw. Direct hit.”  This explains that Zack is Brave because he does not really know how to do what he wants to do, so he just does it, and takes on the bad’s.  I think that would take some bravery wouldn’t it.
     I think that Zack is curious because his dad died for a reason that Zack does not think is true.  Zack thinks that his dad is to smart to and to good a driving a plane , that there is know way that his plane crashed.  I know this because on page 91 is states  “I’m thinking I might want to go and look at the crash site.  You know, just check it out for myself.”  This explains why Zack is curious.  Zack thinks that his dad died form some one getting on the plain and attacking him.  I think The character Callum in the book The iron Trial is brave  because in the book it says “ His wyvern was struggling to its feet, but now call was ready. Throwing his hand out, he slammed the wyvern down and pinned it by its wings.” This proves how I think Callum is brave.

2. Immature 

      I think Callum is immature because in the book it says” Callums dad wants him to focus on anything else just not the test so he can’t go to the school, he agrees and try’s everything to fail.” This lets me know that he’s being immature to purposely fail on his test, because his dad doesn’t like the school anymore.

In the book, “The Lightning Thief” I feel as if Percy is very protective of his true family, and friends. I think this way because the book states: “I haven’t been straight with you. I don’t care about the master bolt. I agreed to go to the Underworld so I could bring back my mother. This shows that Percy cares so much about his mom that he doesn’t even care about the Gods.

2. Understanding-  In Percy Jackson, I think that Percy could be described as understanding. This is due to the way the book defines his character. The book says: “Hang on- the first? Not once in a thousand years?” The context behind this is that most Satyr  choose to go on a quest to find a god. Not one has retired since then, and Percy isn’t trying to stop Grover. He understands this is his life dream, and a chance to renew himself.

Another Harry Potter trait is that he’s adaptable because he went from living under a staircase with no friends to a huge school with lots of kids. For example when Snape called on Harry he said “tell me everything about the potions and magic book u read yesterday,” this proves Harry went from little home work to a whole book of homework and that shows he’s adaptable. Grover is fearful because throughout the book when we meet a monster he freaks out. Whenever he’s nervous he bleats. When we see Medusa he’s scared but he does help slay her. Grover is quite because in the book whenever something remotely danger happens he sticks to the sidelines. For an example in the start of the book Percy always helped Grover ( his best friend ) with bullies. Bullies would pick on Grover nonstop and Percy would stand up for Grover. In the book they were in the bus and this bully was messing with Grover “ Stop that or else!” Percy said to the bully. “ It’s ok.” Grover would always say.


In the book I feel like Percy is understanding. Percy is understanding for multiple reasons, but one is when him and a girl named Annabeth ( a half blood ) are talking. Annabeth had a hard emotional past with her father and it’s hard for her to talk about it, but Percy understood her and he had to be careful about what he said. “ I rather not talk about it” Annabeth said. Percy just looked out the window and didn’t pressure her to say anything. Another time when Percy was understanding is when Grover tells Percy about the Fury’s and when the Fury’s are watching and about to come for Percy. Grover tells Percy to go in and Percy is able to understand what’s going on and listen.

Callum is unsure a lot because he doesn’t know what to believe. You see, Cal’s father has said this a lot that magic was bad. This is what he said,” And it’s because of magic that she died.” But magic seems so cool for Cal. The evidence shows that Cal does not know what to do. Should he become a Wizard, or listen to his father.

  • Callum is scared a lot because he is scared if to see if the Wizards at the magic school are evil or not. You see, Cal’s father said that the Wizard’s are evil and they don’t care who gets hurt. This is what Cal’s father said,” When mage’s go to war, which is often, they don’t care the people who die because of it.” Hear is more evidence showing that Cal also had bad dreams about magic,” That night Call woke up screaming, believing he was trapped underground, earth piling on him as if he were being buried alive.” This evidence proves that Call is super scared of magic.

One more conflict is where in the story is that Zeus and the other olympian gods think that Percy stole his almighty weapon the Lightning Bolt and Percy needs to return it in time to stop a conflict between the olympians. My character has changes because he was really scared because when he failed to save his mom in the underworld he was sad. But when she came back he was filled with joy and was “happy crying.” I am learning from this conflicted that you will always have obstacles in life that may or may not control you for a little while but after you will be fine. Even though it might be hard to deal with it will still go away after a long time or maybe even a short time. Who knows.
