I believe all students have the potential to achieve their desired goals regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances. Each student comes from unique environments with various skills and learning styles. I believe it is the responsibility of the education system, institution, and personnel to ensure that no matter where a student comes from or the obstacles they may face, their potential is acknowledged, and they are given the tools to succeed with a collaborative team looking after the best interest of each student.

     The school counselor's role as an advocate is to communicate the needs of the students as needed to the necessary individuals while always maintaining the best interest of the students. As outlined in the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, advocacy is expected at every level, from direct services with students to indirect levels through legislation and policies (ASCA,2019). Ultimately, counselors become a voice for students, helping to express their needs and concerns to the appropriate parties and ensuring that the best interest of the students is considered at all levels. 

     Ethical standards work to standardize the school counseling field while creating the framework for school counselors to serve the students. Ethical standards ensure that school counselors consistently align in their decision-making while maintaining the rights of the students.

      My vision is to establish a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment through direct and indirect services that empowers students to reach their fullest potential academically, socially, and emotionally while providing the tools to successfully and independently navigate their educational journies and lives thereafter.
