Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance. Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, you have more energy to tackle daily chores. And specially to those who are suffering from stress. It can be one of our stress reliever.

Aside of improving our muscle strength and boosting our endurance. Exercise is also important to make us more healthy and fit especially at times like this where we are at risk in having COVID-19, if we have a weak immune system. Exercise improves the performance of your immune system. It aids your body's ability to respond to viruses more rapidly and effectively. Physical activity also improves your body's ability to respond to immunizations. This means you'll be able to develop a greater antibody response, which will protect you better.

Regular exercise keeps your muscles, bones and joints strong and functioning well, but also helps prevent falls and fractures. Try doing exercises that strengthen your bones and muscles twice a week. Exercise burns calories and helps to maintain a healthy weight which in turn reduces your risk of many health problems

Exercise is important in our daily life. It is important that our bones and muscles are elastic, especially in today’s generations. Perhaps others are soaked in various activities that they are no longer able to exercise especially now that the pandemic has emerged. We need to keep our bodies healthy and strong even with a simple exercise. Exercise is one of the best ways to maintain our body to become physically fit and also one of the ways how we can get away from the disease that is spreading nowadays.

The reason why people exercise is to be healthy and avoid diseases especially now that there is a pandemic. Life is so short that they prefer to exercise so that they can maintain good health. You can improve not only physical health but also your mental health. You will also boost your self-confidence with exercise because it is not just push ups, sit ups, planking, or whatever because dancing and zumba are also examples of exercise. You can also discover other abilities you didn’t know before. And for people who have been bullied because of their weight and causing depression and loss of self-confidence, make it a habit to exercise. Exercise regularly to prolong your life.

I'm an athlete and a dancer before the pandemic, but because of covid, it's forbidden to go out, it all stopped. I wasn't depressed but my life became boring, I had a hard time getting back to the dance moves I used to have because I lost my daily routine. Then when the environment was pretty okay, the covid was pretty much gone. I danced again in front of a crowd, as if I had escaped the cage in overjoy. That’s where I learned the importance of exercise and it should just keep going. You get rid of problems and you become happier when you exercise.

- Hernandez Frances Aira E.

Exercise is a healthy lifestyle that involves physical exertion of sufficient intensity, duration, and frequency to achieve or maintain vigour and health. Regular exercisers have a lower risk of death. Exercise also aids in the development of emotional balance. Exercise has been shown to improve a person's mental well-being. With no regular exercise aside from walking my dog for 10-15mins around the neighborhood. Signs of aging? Haha Yes. But this is something I have to work on to have a balanced life. I should be more intentional about staying healthy and active, even if I can't avoid working long hours.

I’m sure, I’m not the only one experiencing this. Everyone is glued to their screen, scrolling endlessly on their phone screens, munching all sorts of unhealthy snacks. We must break that cycle and lead a healthier lifestyle to prevent further injury or illness.

This is very true to me because when I had experienced unbearable discomfort with my back and was diagnosed with PCOS, that’s when I realized I need to do something. Another reason why exercise has become important in today’s generation is to retrain people’s bodies to exercise because now they are always in home focused on their cellphone. no longer able to exercise. In this picture it is shown that I am jogging in the lake because it has been my habit since high school because of dancing.

We are a generation addicted to smartphones. Smartphones aren't of course inherently bad, but the addiction and overuse of them are the problem. Nowadays, it's not uncommon to see adolescent people wearing prescription glasses or experiencing chronic neck and back pain. It's not surprising to know people who experience insomnia or even depression at an early age. Although smartphones are not solely to blame, our constant use of these gadgets is adversely changing our bodies.

And because smartphones are made to be addicting, we mindlessly scroll through one app and then switch to another one only to scroll again. Experts call this doom scrolling, and then we just look up from the screens one time and it's already 10:00 in the evening. We just spent the whole day in bed or on the couch with only a couple of trips to the bathroom and kitchen as our exercise of the day. Lifestyle diseases - heart problems, diabetes, obesity, etc. - are just around the corner.

Because of this addiction and dependence on our phones, there is a pressing need to promote and advocate for an alternative that not only takes our eyes off the black mirrors but also lifts us up from our seats and gets us moving. Exercise is the alternative. Regular exercise can help ease the chronic body pains we feel from hours and hours of sitting all day. It's going to hurt in the beginning, but the benefits will soon follow. Constant and calculated movements through physical activities can help our hearts in pumping life-giving blood to our sleeping and immobile cells and organs. Imagine all the lifestyle diseases we would be preventing if we start exercising as early as now. Yes, just staying at home and being with our phones is the easy and convenient thing to do. But our bodies will soon thank us if we choose more wisely on where to spend our time.

On a personal note, exercise and physical activities produce endorphins which trigger positive feelings in our brains. For people like me who suffer from depression and who dealt with fears of missing out because of what people portray on social media, walking for fitness took me out of the rut. Walking for fitness kept me in good shape and mind. Yes, I got exhausted after an hour or so of walking, but feeling my heart racing, sunrays touching my skin, and my brain producing happy hormones made it all worth it.

In a generation where mental health problems are becoming prevalent, exercise can be one of the many ways to treat them.

ELISE BENITO
BSNED 1

When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn. And as people age, they tend to lose muscle mass and function, which can lead to an increased risk of injury. Practicing regular physical activity is essential to reducing muscle loss and maintaining strength as you age and also helps build bone density when you’re younger, in addition to helping prevent osteoporosis later in life.

Castillo John lyko B
BTVTED-1A
