It's a great example of a symbiotic relationship because the wheat grass and sprouts help to filter the water so the betta fish has clean water to live in. The betta fish, on the other hand, provides nutrients that the wheat grass and sprouts need to grow big and healthy.
Both the betta fish and the grass/sprouts can survive on their own but together they both live better.
Blended learning, with quality instruction and technology, can and do exist on their own. However, for change to occur (for the majority), it also requires someone holding us accountable to reach our goals. I view blended learning being the same. Giving students technology without the accountability piece and instruction from the teacher, it won't be effective.
