         <description><![CDATA[<div>The main goal for formative assessments is to monitor students understanding of the topic at hand while they are learning it. It helps teachers to identify the children's strengths and weaknesses for the lesson as well as gives the teachers the opportunity to give direct and ongoing feedback.<br><strong>Examples: </strong>Submit one or two sentences identifying the main idea of the lecture after class. Kahoot quizzes can also be used as formative assessments.  </div>]]></description>

Summative assessments are usually graded based on certain standards or benchmarks, and are also known as "high stakes" tests, because they may refer to the ACT or SAT as a summative assessment. <br><strong>Examples:</strong> SAT, ACT, midterms, or final exams for specific classes. </div>]]></description>
