Nothing turns a user off a page more than a mess of broken links and dodgy optimisation. This includes what links you have on your page and what links users to your page. Important factors for good ranking include links both inbound and back links. High quality links are more attractive to the user. If you make something publicly available you should link to it, as this optimises the site for users and allows it to become more user friendly. By having links that open in a new window, it allows the user a chance to stay on your page as well as reap the benefits of your links to other pages. Once these links are reliable and suitable for your page, this improves your page's content and adds credibility to the site.

There are a couple of small steps I would initially advise a client to consider when trying to improve their organic search ranking. I would advise a client to initially check their current search ranking to see where they stand. A solid keyword list will allow them to pick the most relevant keywords for their site to bring in traffic. Ensuring their webpage is of good quality will help boost their organic ranking. The main things I would then advise are to optimize their page titles and tags. They should correctly structure their HTML tag. It should be short in characters and contain the most relevant words near the start of the tag. ALT tags should also be optimised along with the structure of their URL. 18499116

18350906

I think it’s most important to look at the quality of links coming inbound to your site is the best way to improve organic search rankings. With google analytics, one can now analyse the sorts of links that are coming through to your page and where they are coming from. One can then decide which websites that are linking you are a good strategic fit for you. It must be decided which align with your company values. Google allows you to get rid of poor performing links or links that speak about your website badly. Links are frequently now based on the key phrases located around the link and this is a key factor in deciding the quality of a link.

The one factor that I’d tell the client to focus on to generate organic search rankings is user experience. It’s really important to make the website or link as accessible as possible for the users by using different techniques like easy to figure links like for example as said in the lecture “more wooden toys” and have the link embedded in that than to say “click here for more wooden toys.” It was also discussed that websites and links should be designed in a way that is accessible to both humans and robots. It should be short, easy to understand and straightforward.

Ensuring all information in clear and concise, and easily navigated by a user is what I believe to be one of the the first and most important steps in improving search rankings. Given that Google is no longer focusing on keywords to improve rankings, but rather the quality and depth of relative information on the site, overall content is crucial. Consistent use of appropriate keywords throughout the webpage is also crucial here. Alternatively, depending on the nature of the site itself, inward and outbound linking can also be extremely effective.

As the algorithm becomes more driven by AI and less predictable, knowing what the next trend will become more and more difficult. As Google move away from checking for tags to more organic means of quality checks it could be most efficient for SEO advisers to recommend their client focus more on content than exploiting a specific feature of the algorithm.
I would also recommend they still understand the basic requirements such as quality links and use of images to rank highly as they are less likely to dramatically change with AI taking control of search.

I would advise my client to ensure that when their site is searched for location etc and it comes up on the right hand side of the search page that they make sure to make sure all information is relevant and true to ensure it is officially verified and provides no false information for searchers. If there is no official listing On the right hand side there will be less chance of someone clicking the site. If it provides fake information people will be less likely to click On it also. Key words are also essential to the description as it helps the search engine to narrow down the search and make it more specific when people look something up. I would also advise a client to avoid irrelevant linkage to their site as it brings down their search relevance on the listings.

I always thought that HTML tagwords were still important to be used for search optimization but It is clear that we should focus more on HTML title and heading tags. Wording is so important to improve organic search ratings.

What they are ranking higher, and who's getting in trouble. Also HTML as a skill seems to be vital, and its important that your site is flexible, so once a small change in google's algorithm is detected, a site can be re-optimised to meet these preferences. Optimise for everyone. Not only is it important for individuals with impairments, and lesser technology capabilities to easily access the information they're looking for, but the crawlers used by google too, so processing of new changes is fast and ranking is refreshed quicker.

This also couples very well with html optimisation as you will most likely need to format your snippet to have an answer to the question within the 160 characters. While this may not the the number 1 priority for most products or brands it would be an effective tactic.

Many businesses make the mistake of spending too much money on keywords that aren’t “buyer” keywords, which results in useless traffic to the site.

It is optimal to target keywords that your target customers are likely to use when searching for the product or service that you offer. For example, if you have an optician business based in Dublin, I would not recommend that you target general keywords such as “optician”.

Conor McGuinness 17349566
I would recommend my clients to look at the keywords that a competitor who is doing well is using to identify any keywords that they are using which you aren't. My clients may be missing out on the traffic that these keywords are attracting . Using these keywords will then help my client to improve their organic search rankings.

It is a good idea for a firm to set up on “google my business” which allows your business to appear on local search pack which will appear above organic search results.
It is also good practice to identify keywords used when searching.
You could also feature a blog on your website which allows you to constantly add new content to the website. Search engines often feature websites that feature new content as it is viewed as providing more value to the end user. In addition, blog posts give the opportunity to spread it through social media which increases the drive in traffic back to your site.

18480914 I would advise a client to Focus on click through rates. Click through rates are the metrics that allow you to see how many users clicked on your site out of the total number of people who saw it. Therefore click through rates are extremely important as if hundreds or thousands of people are seeing your search result but don’t click it it is a wasted effort and changed need to be made. Low or falling click through rates is something to be avoided as it shows that the campaign is not running successfully and needs improvement. If your page exceeds the expected CTR Organis ranking improves
