He was in a train crash, where he helped survivors.<br>8. The incident left him so shaken that he just continued writing to get away while his health deteriorated. During the height of his career, rumors were spread of his problematic alcoholism and admittance to an insane asylum.<br>5.     After reaching success, he went back to buy the house that his father had pointed out to him when he was younger.<br>6.     You can see the care he has for his books when he goes back into the wrecked carriage of a train, that he had crashed in, to retrieve the final part of "Our Mutual Friend."&nbsp;<br>7.     Dickens was not the same after the wreck and his health deteriorated until he died of a stroke on June 9, 1870.<br>8.&nbsp;    Dickens had a tendency to hang around unusual people which fueled his imagination for writing.</div>]]></description>
