My research question was: What if you were to take an alternative to general anesthesia, and would it be as effective? I chose this research topic to better educate myself upon the basic premises of my future occupation. I wish to be an anesthesiologist when I graduate, and in order to do that I need a bit of background knowledge before I study for the profession in med school.

My three different genres of research that I chose were an interview, doctors notes, and a newspaper article. The interview I had was with an anesthesiologist from St. Francis who kindly took a few minutes out of his busy day for me. I chose an interview so that I could follow my repetend and so that I could show you that my genres were not made up lies. I wanted a professional to appear so that you could feel assured that what information I put on is actually true. The doctor's notes are a continuation of sorts from the interview, of course I made up the problems, but the side effects are real. I wanted to show that different procedures use different anesthetics and that you’re not always going to undergo general anesthesia. I wanted to explain some after effects or things that you may have to do under different procedures. The dental surgery for example, used local anesthesia and the patient needed to eat soft foods. I wanted to highlight that local anesthetics are not only used in hospitals but also in dental offices. I also wanted to show that not all side effects are harmful to the body but are simply ways for you to heal better (and yes dear reader I am aware I misspelled hospital in one of the notes, I apologise).  My final genre was a newspaper article from the made up Sleepy Times. I wanted to present my findings in a way that showed care to you with the author's note, but also explained the effectiveness of different anesthetics. This way I was able to tie up my research question but also present it in a way where you could trust the information.

My design elements were simple, but that was on purpose. I wanted it to be simple to mimic the way a hospital appears to a patient, simple, clean, safe. If a hospital design is too complicated, a patient wouldn't want to go there because they want to be able to feel safe while they are in there. My design reflects that in all of my genres. The interview was simple and straight to the point just like how doctors are when diagnosing your symptoms. The doctors notes were clean and simple to reflect the sanitation inside of hospitals. Finally my newspaper was made in a way that was easy and simple to follow along. I wanted to start it out with an author's note to reflect how doctors and hospitals want to help not harm you. Just like my research question, which is made to help you understand what might happen to you.

My repetend follows the journey of Sleepy Times. This newspaper's name was meant to reflect how when you are put under anesthetics you are asleep or at least certain nerves in your body are. The times part is a reference to the Times Magazine which made you feel more familiar with my newspaper. Sleepy Times is on a journey to help their readers understand the anesthetics that they would undergo during medical procedures. You can glean this information in my third genres authors note, where they note that their readers befall a curse of sorts during this time of year. Sleepy Times mission is to help out their readers and provide them information so that they can feel safe and secure.Which in turn was also my mission. I wanted to share information that I  had learned to make sure that you were prepared for anything dangerous that may have come your way. I hope I was effective enough in my presentation that this was true for you.
