I wanted to have a two color effect, because the eyes are cut out so you could see the copper color through the eyes, in order to do this you need to cut out a piece of copper (or whatever metal of your choice) to fit the same size as the head. You will then need to saw that out as well and solder the copper onto the back of the head. Once you solder the copper on you are going to want to use emery paper and a file to smooth out the head and make the copper fit perfectly to the other piece of the head.

I chose to dome the head of the pentapus to add the effect of 3D. I did this by using the dapping block and punches, you want to use the correct punch that fit the whole correctly. You want to then use a hammer and hit the top of the punch which then will dome my pentapus' head. If the copper starts to come apart from the other piece of metal that means you didnt solder enough and you will need to go back and solder again.

I wanted to add a bit of texture to my pentapus' tentacles, so I decided to make little silver balls, I did this by carving small indents into a charcoal brick, I carved indents into it by using a nail, you don't want to make the indents too big. You then want to cut small pieces of metal (wire), as many pieces you cut is as many balls you will be making.

After you have finished making your silver balls, you will then want to solder the balls onto the pentapus' tentacles, you want to use easy solder and you want to have a small flame and only keep the flame on the silver balls for about 10 seconds, if you keep the flame on the silver balls too long, they will melt. After you finish soldering each ball on, you want to make sure they are well stuck on, if they aren't, make sure the solder is melted and place the ball back on and put it under the flame once again. Once you are done with the fire, place the project into water to cool it down then put it in the pickle (acid bath), only keep it in the acid bath for about 2-3 minutes. Then polish your project to get the shine that you had when you first started back.

This was the first project we made, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to make but I wanted to do something a bit different, and something that I could see myself wearing. So I decided to make a pendant that is a circle shape that has shells that I cut from a necklace, I kept the shells on by using blue colored wire which added a colorful effect to the pendant, I then wrapped copper metal around it as well to keep everything in place. This was my first project ever so I didn't really know what I was doing, but I ended up really liking my end result.
