On September 22, 1983, flag criteria were determined with the Turkish Flag Law No. 2893 and the flag was finalized.    






According to the legend, al in the flag is red blood and represents the blood of the martyrs. We see the Turkish flag first as a white-colored star sent to Osman Bey by Anatolian Seljuk ruler Gıyaseddin Mesud.


After the 15th century, the flag was started to be used in the Çaldıran War in the period of Yavuz Sultan Selim. The closest thing to the Turkish flag is III. It is encountered during the Selim period. In this flag an eight-pointed star was used along with the crescent. In the year 1842 Abdulmecit was started to be used as a star pentagon.



On May 29, 1936, the shape of the flag was determined precisely upon the removal of the Sultanate. The use of the Turkish flag was regulated by the "Turkish Flag Regulation" dated July 28, 1937, numbered 27175.

Crescent appears in Muslim nations. The meaning of the Cross is that it symbolizes Jesus as he believes that Jesus was martyred in the form of a cross, stretched by the cross.


What about Crescent? We know that Muslims are accepted as symbols. But where does the symbolic value come from?
Although the full moon (Bedir) is brighter than the moon on the fourth day of the moon, why did the moon receive the weakest symbol in the form of a bow, which gives the least light? Here is the power of the Crescent here. Because if it were taken directly like the Crescent Cross, it would be more appropriate to use the Full Moon. However, "Crescent" has become a symbol because of its name, not because of its shape.
