The aim of the PADANE project is to increase resilience of vulnerable rural populations (farming households, women and youth) to climate change, improving incomes through market linkages and private sector agribusiness development, and improving food and nutrition security.

The PADANE project builds upon the results of the PAPAB project, which was the introduction of the PIP (plan intégré du paysan) approach to rural smallholder farmers. In PADANE extra training modules of the PIP approach are developed to scale up and reach sustainability. The extra modules are in line with the four work streams of PADANE: inclusive value chains & inclusive finance, youth & women employment, food nutrition security and learning, dialogue & advocacy. The selected value chains or sectors in which the PADANE project is active are: white sorghum, sunflower, patchouli, milk, chicken and eggs, vegetables and fruits.

In nutrition sector, PADANE will be supporting the FARN (Foyer Amélioré de Reéhabilitation Nutrutionel) approach.
