Neighborly Relations

In many communities, the relationship between neighbors can sometimes be strained due to various conflicts. Common problems include noise disputes, property disputes, and differing lifestyles that can clash. One significant issue stems from a lack of communication and understanding among neighbors. For instance, one neighbor might host frequent late-night gatherings, which can disturb another's peace. In another example, differing opinions about property maintenance can lead to disagreements that escalate tensions.

To address these issues, open communication is essential. Neighbors should create opportunities to discuss concerns in a respectful and open manner. Organizing community meetings or informal gatherings can foster a sense of camaraderie among residents. When problems arise, neighbors should approach each other with the intention of problem-solving rather than confrontation. By ensuring that they express their concerns while also listening to the perspectives of others, neighbors can work together to find compromises that suit everyone involved.

In addition to improving communication, establishing community guidelines can also help. These guidelines could outline acceptable noise levels during nighttime hours or collective agreements about property upkeep. By having clear expectations, neighbors can feel more secure in their living environment, reducing unnecessary conflicts. Furthermore, involving local community organizations can provide support and resources for conflict resolution, making it easier for neighbors to navigate disputes amicably.

Ultimately, fostering good neighborly relations requires effort from all parties involved. When neighbors actively seek to understand one another and problem-solve collaboratively, they can create a more harmonious living environment that enhances the quality of life for everyone in the community. Ultimately, a proactive approach to resolving neighborly issues not only improves individual relationships but also contributes to the overall wellbeing of the neighborhood.

In 1995, a baby was born with a congenital defect called an imperforate anus. This condition occurs when the anus is either missing or blocked, requiring immediate surgery to create an opening. Due to this urgent medical need, the baby's grandmother took her to the hospital, hoping for treatment. However, the hospital refused to admit the baby because the family could not afford the required deposit of ₱30,000. Born into poverty, they had no means to pay such a large amount. With heavy hearts and tears in their eyes, they had no choice but to seek help at a public hospital, feeling discriminated against and helpless in a system that prioritizes money over human life.

Listening to this story from our friend filled our heart with both compassion and confusion. In some countries, healthcare is free and accessible to all, regardless of financial status. Why is this not the case in the Philippines? The root cause of this problem is corruption. In our country, especially at the barangay level, if only government officials managed public funds or "the kaban ng bayan",properly and honestly, the economy would improve, and the people would benefit. With corruption eliminated, free healthcare could become a reality. Roads would be built faster, education would be improved, and more jobs would be created. It is inspiring to imagine a nation where every family has food on the table, children receive quality education, and no one is denied medical care due to poverty. But this vision remains out of reach as long as corruption persists.

So, how do we fight corruption and achieve the changes we hope for? There are many possible solutions, but one of the most crucial is voting wisely during elections. We must elect leaders who are worthy of their positions, honest individuals who truly care about the people. We must reject the culture of selling votes or choosing candidates based on popularity. Instead, we should vote for those who have a proven track record of integrity and public service, those who will prioritize the welfare of the nation over personal gain.

Voting wisely is the right solution because political leaders shape the policies that affect healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. Corrupt officials misuse public funds, depriving citizens of essential services. However, if we elect honest and competent leaders, government resources will be allocated properly, leading to better hospitals, roads, schools, and employment opportunities. Change begins with the people, and by making informed choices at the polls, we take the first step toward a corruption-free society. A single vote may seem small, but collectively, it has the power to transform our country for the better,so vote wisely.

GROUP 3

Members:

Mantos

Pancho

Bitoon

Lao

Areja

Areja

ambottt wako kibaw kinsa paaa😭😭isely.

PROBLEM

Problem in waste is not a new issue, not only in barangay looc but in so many communities. We can see all the garbage and waste was thrown in the street, every household were throwing their garbage outside and putting in every corner of the street when it is not the designated area. It is dangerous to our health the foul odor that came from the garbage. This problem is also seen most specially when rainy season when the garbage is washed to the drainage which cost flooding.

The improper disposal of waste can bring such problems in our health, community and even to our lives like during rainy season, some places are easily targeted by floods because some of our solid waste materials will be clogged in our drainage canals and by this problem different diseases can easily occur. Solid waste management that is not efficient will lead to negative impacts to the environment, such as environmental pollution, solid and water.

SOLUTION

To address this issue, the barangay officials and residents of the community should work together to establish a proper waste management. Barangay officials should create a program that will highlight reducing waste generation, promoting reuse and recycling and implementing responsible disposal methods. Encourage residents to buy only what they need, choose products with minimal packaging. Implement bans or restrictions on single-use plastics and promote the use of alternatives like shopping bags. Educate residents on proper food storage and preparation techniques, implement public awareness campaigns to teach residents how to propely sort recyclable materials.

Develop a plan that addresses all aspects of waste management, from generation to disposal. Collaborate with businesses and community groups to implement waste reduction and recycling program. Implement and enforce regulations related to waste disposal to ensure compliance.

Nathan M. Estalani
