         <title>Galway Theatre Festival Cancelled</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><br>Galway Theatre Festival will not go ahead in May 2020. <br><br>Beatha agus sláinte chugaibh, In response to the current COVID-19 situation, and after careful consideration, we have made the decision to cancel the Galway Theatre Festival (1-9 May 2020).<br><br>Our priority is to the health and safety of our artists, audience, festival team and the wider public. We would like to thank the Arts Council, Galway City Council, Foras na Gaeilge and all our partners, funders, sponsors, volunteers, artists and friends for their continued support. <br><br>Galway Theatre Festival holds the support and celebration of artists at its core, and we will work to continue to support artists, and on ways to present our programme to you in the coming weeks and months. We will keep in touch with updates soon.          <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><h1><strong>LITERATURE AIMED FOR INDEPENDENT THEATRE ARTISTS &amp; THEATRE ENTHUSIASTS</strong></h1><div><br></div><div>We are delighted to announce the launch of the <strong>Make A Move Handbook</strong> and of Special Monographic Issue of the <a href="https://www.journalabyme.com/vol7-2020-makeamove"><strong>journal “</strong><strong><em>Mise en Abyme” – International Journal of Comparative Literature and Arts</em></strong></a> dedicated to Make a Move Project, “Debating Independent and Non-institutionalised Theatre in Europe”.</div><div><strong><br><br>Read about:<br></strong><br></div><ul><li><strong>MAKE A MOVE Art Incubator – its topics, implementations, findings</strong></li><li><strong>Artistic practices, experiences and challenges in terms of digital practices, site-specific practices, audiences and positioning in the business and journalistic context</strong></li><li><strong>Research findings on the non-institutionalised theatre sectors</strong></li><li><strong>Solutions to many challenges of the sector.</strong></li></ul><div>The Make a Move project<strong> executed and tested an innovative Art Incubator program</strong>. This program was designed particularly for non-institutionalised theatre practitioners and small independent cultural operators, primarily from the field of contemporary movement-based theatre.</div><div>The Make a Move project<strong> improved capacities of 45 independent, movement-based European artists</strong> to work transnationally and internationally, enhanced their professional skills, facilitated peer learning, education and training, improved their career opportunities to access new markets and reach new and wider audiences, enabled network possibilities, building partnerships and contacts.
