According to the professor, what makes this building so unique is, first, the modernity of the building’s architecture at the time, it was really modern ; and according to the architect it was more a sculpture than a building, because we always have a different perspective wether we look at it on a side or another. Moreover, the roof which makes this building so unique has required years and years of conception because engineers were using techniques that were new at the time. The design also fits with the environment by having the shape of a sail which is in link with the harbor, so that is one of the reason why it is so unique. 

 

To put it in a nutshell, we can say that the Sydney Opera House was really difficult to build and needed many years to concept, but however it is now one of the most famous and recognizable building in the world. 

                First, The Sidney Opera House is a very famous building all arround the world, and it’s due to its impressive structure.  It opened in 1973 and after that there has been a lot of reactions from people, questionning and the original design.  Jorn Utzon is the person who first imagine this design, his main aim was to obtain a result that look like a sculpture, that’s why he decided to do something fitted with the environment. Then he has the idea to put a large roof, to make the building look like « a sailing ship at full said on the water », that’s what he said. To resume the opera is a big structure with a roof on the top who reflects the sun light, making it like a ship.

                Then, the professor gives her opinion about that design. For her the building is unique for many reasons. First, she can’t associate it to a category of building, it’s too different. Then she qualifies the opera as very modern, from an international inspiration which make it worldwide and perfectly unique. She also underlines the work of the engineers to obtain a nice result.

                To conclude, the Sydney Opera House is a very unique building, which can be describe with many great words and which represent a piece of art.

The sidney opera house is a very modern building, this is more a scuplture than a building, since the prcision of this fantastic scuplture is incredible. Jorn Utzon who designed the Sidney Opera house said that his main target was to evoque a sailing ship. This is idea turn the project into a very serious challenge to stabilize the sail as example, by taking in count that the building is 200 feet high.The project is also a very old idea, in 1966 the design was chosen but was too expensive. 

According to the professor, this building is unique because its modern architecture doesn’t allow it to be considered as any other style of architecture its geometric lines and its structured ingineering. 

To conclude the Sydney Opera House is maybe the most modern building in the world since all of its  characteristics both architecture and ingineering made it a symbol which is known in the whole world as an incredible building and sculpture.

Indeed, the author is John Utzon, an unknown architect outside denmark. He considered himself and what he does such as scultur more than architectur. That’s a reason why Sydney opera House is so unic. 

Moreover, the shape of the opera is like a ship on the water or something else, it depend « on the direction from which it was viewed ». Although it was really hard to realize, there were a strong collaborate betwenn architect and engineer. Is it said in the text that the hardest was the roof. Besides, John Utzon was comitted in the environment. He choses special raw materials around the world. The collaborate between engineer and architectur is ambitious and innovative.

Furthermore, this monument is unic because, as is it said in the recording, we can’t categorize him, he is the only one of this kind and meanwhile, the most recognize monument in the world. 

Athough the opera make a lot of noise, in politic ( debate), economy (over budget) ect . Nowadays it’s one of the main advantage of Sydney for tourism. 

To sum up, that’is all the things that makes the opera of syndney unic.

The professor classifies the bulding as unique because, it was build with the aspect of the environment, it’s build with organic principales. Moreover  this sculpture was select for an international competion in 1956. The Sydney Opera House  is most popular for is speciality. It’s a international bulding beacuse it’s a so imaginative bulding and has a parcticular style it was design by the environment. The Opera House look like a ship it’s a very particular structure contratry all of monuments in the world. This project was created by architects and ingenieurs. It’s a new technology of the twenty century in the world.  But in 1966, there is a probleme with a Opera House because the budget was very expensive and create  political debate.

They spent several years on it and more than ten years later, the project wasn’t done, even completed. It was very difficult for the builders because the pieces of concrete were too heavy and very complex to work with.

At the end, different designers and constructors worked together for delivering it in 1973.
