I connected to the book to me by being Nya and Salva's age which is twelve.Also it shows me that my life compared to their lives is good and I should enjoy what I have like a family and an education.It also made me realize that most people in the United States are not as happy and they want more,but most of us live in a home and we have clean water.

The type of reader that would want to read this book is someone who likes realistic fiction and adventure.People that like realistic fiction would like this book because it talks about two characters named Salva and Nya.The story about Salva is real but the story about Nya could be real,but many people who live in Africa do what she does.People who like adventure would want to read this because Salva and Nya go through so much just to try and stay alive.That is why people that like the genres realistic fiction and adventure would want to read this book.
