The structure, political landscape, and the constitution(Seen below).  The national board has 255 spots to be filled. The Head of State is elected through a two round voting system, that will claim the victor a 5 year term. The Head of State can run for two different terms. The people of the countries opinions also contain The African Democratic party, Ivorian Popular Front, Rally of Republicans. The current leader is part of the Rally of Republicans. The Constitution of Cote d'ivoire protects things like speech and press. This means that you can say or express any opinion without censorship. This also goes with press, with it now being in writing, and it’s the right to say things in writing to the public without censorship. Also, it protects things such as assembly and religion. The right to assemble makes it so you can gather with others without fearing that the government will revolt. Finally, it covers the right to religion which just means that you can believe in what you want and won't be persecuted for it.

They are called the president or head of state. Then, once elected they chose a prime minister. Right now the president is named  Alassane Dramane Ouattara (Shown bottom-mid-right). This was his third election, and first victory for president. The prime minister’s name is Daniel Kablan Duncan, who is also the mayor of Korhogo which was a job given to him by the president. These jobs are very important, and help run the country. The average household has a yearly income of $1,550 U.S dollars, or 851000.92 CFA Franc’s which may seem like a lot but it is 133 of 188 for richest countries in the world(55 away from poorest). More than 40% of the country is below the poverty line. Some of the history from the CFA Franc includes how it started. It started because people in the French-African colonies people wanted to stop using their money so they started their own banks. Some of their main exports include beans, coffee, bananas, palm kernels, and cassava. Local towns and economies require exporting grains, produce, cotton, and tobacco, to larger scale economies. Also, in town there are upcoming industries like exporting food, wood, oil, textiles, and fertilizer. Cote D’Ivoire is a main exporter for these goods around the world(seen below). On New Years Eve families get together and have parties. Also, Christians attend night Vigils and church to show significance of the New Year. Holidays such as Easter and Assumption are also very popular in Côte D’Ivoire. People come from all around the country to be with their families on these holidays(Family seen below). For Muslims the most important holiday is Tabaski and each family buys a sheep and kills it and eat it the next day.

The French came there in the 1600’s and started trading there right when they got there. The French and Portuguese traded a lot with the natives too. A large part of these trades was ivory, and elephants almost went extinct and are a large part of their history too.  Then, in the 1800’s the French started colonizing and harassed tribal leaders. This lead to lots of anger throughout the country. Weddings in Côte D’Ivoire are very interesting, and each have a slight religious spin on them(Wedding clothes seen below).  Religion aside, polygamy is very popular in Côte D’Ivoire. It was abolished by the government, and now weddings are more sacred occasions. At the christian weddings, there is often a ceremonial foot washing. In the Muslim-Ivorian weddings there is a 2 day feast once the wedding contract is signed. One grim part of the religious Ivorian culture is burials. In Christian-Ivorian burials the person get to choose(When alive) where they want to be buried. In Muslim-Ivorian burials close family and friends get to see the body and say a prayer, to send the body off to their belief of the one and only Allah. Also, they think that the body should buried as soon as possible.

There are two main religious groups in Côte D’Ivoire. Christians and Muslims. 40.2% of the population is Muslim. Although the country is poor, the Muslims there try to help each other as much as they can. They donate a lot and help each other whenever they can and have one thing in common, the belief in one god. 23.6% of Côte D’Ivoire is Christian(Church seen below).  Easter is really important to the people in this country and this helps the christian families come together, and celebrate. Religion helps people cme together and get through hard times, and with anything that happens in Côte D’Ivoire religion helps people there.

The unemployment rate is 5.3% and is slowly declining each year. Most of the country Works in agriculture and things such as beans and other fruits and vegetables are very common to be grown because they are easy to grow and they sell quickly there because that is a large quantity of things of what the economy is developed from. People also grow things for their own needs and families along with making things such as clothes and other items for their households to help them stay alive because many can often not afford those things.

The main causes of death there are AIDS, the flu, and pneumonia because those are things that are hard to cure or cannot be cured because of the people's Financial statuses. The literacy rate is also low only 56.8% of adults are literate because many children do not often go to secondary school because they need to make money to support their families. Right now there is only 27% of kids going to secondary school which is not a lot, compared to the Almost 100% which go to Primary School(Seen below).

Coupé-Décalé Is another type of dance music and also they listen to a lot of French and American rap in Côte D’Ivoire. Music is a widely enjoyed thing in Côte D’Ivoire. There is also lots of mountainous terrain too. In the southern part of the country there is about 75 inches of rain per year, and in the north it’s only about 45 inches of rain. There's many baobab and kapok trees there and also many fruits such as avocado and mangoes grow there too. There's lots of things to grow there and the climate is perfect for it and also this helps with the exports with things like cocoa beans(seen below) and other fruits and vegetables to be exported .

Some of these animals include the African elephant, Chimpanzee, Diana monkey, and Liberian mongoose. Other vulnerable animals are Aellen's Roundleaf Bat, and African Golden Cat. One fact about the African elephant(Seen below)  is that there are two types, the savannah and forest. One fact about the chimpanzee is that they share 98% of the human DNA blueprint. There the Boloye Dance. This dance is also known as the Panther Dance. It is a dance of rejoicing and brings happiness.  It is also a sacred children's dance and it brings character to the child. There are also many food to try there. There is a food called aloko and it is made of fried bananas. It is widely enjoyed, and easy to make. There are lots of other food too such as Cornmeal cookies and fufu. Cornmeal Cookies are cookies made from cornmeal, and are easy to make and delicious. Fufu is made with boiled Cassava and Plantains. People have very mixed opinions about it, but if you get there you should try it.

One place that is very popular to visit is the Yamoussoukro Basilica. It has lots of historical value to the country, and is a very important place for Côte d’Ivoire. It has been the capital since 1983 and the center town of the lakes region. Additionally Nawa Falls is an interesting place to visit too. It was a sight of pilgrimage. It is a place for spiritual retreat, but on the other the hand it’s used for entertainment and recreation. Finally, the Grand Bassam France Neighborhood is a very famous place to go. It shows lots of historical, and agricultural homes. Most of these homes are huts, and are very interesting to see. Also, each year there is a dance of purification that takes place there. Lastly, it’s historical value, because it was the first place the French came to, to colonize.
