1. Heart-wrenching
Lina and her family live in Lithuania during the WWII era. Her, her mother, and brother are taken by the NKVD (police) during chapter 1 and put onto a train. They don't know where their father is or even if he is alive. 
2. Disgusting
A woman was literally taken straight from the hospital with her baby hours after giving birth and put on the train with everyone else. Her baby ends up dying and they have to throw it out of the train :(

Rafe's goal is to break every single rule in the "Hills Village Code of Conduct". One adjective that I chose is Hills Village Middle School. This book is honesstly very hard to get into, beacuse of the very quick, strange, turn of events that happen at the beginning. For one, LITERALY pages in the book, a man and his kids are going to a museum. They are there because their dad works with them. He tells his kids to stay in one room, WHILE HE DOES MYTHICAL SPELLS ON A ROCK FROM ANCIENT EGYPT. Once again, pages in. I don't get it all too much...
