How has it changed over time: When Oshawott evolves into Dewott, the shells double. This leads to double protection as the Pokemon is not much bigger. When Dewott evolves into Samurott, the shells become a part of its body to use as both a weapon and protection.

How has it changed over time: In the Oshawott phase, small claws are seen which develop to much bigger claws in the Dewott phase. Samurott has the longest claws which attack harder.
How this changes benefits for the Pokemon: In the first stages, Oshawott uses the claws solely to eat and crack hard berries. It becomes more of an attack in the Dewott phase and the most forceful attack in the Samurott phase.

How it has changed over time: Oshawott begins with a blue stomach and white head. It moves to Dewott where the entire body is a blue that is a little darker. It is at its darkest when it hits the Samurott phase.

How it has changed over time: Oshawott has small flippers when starting out and grows into legs in the Dewott phase. Oshawott and Dewott stand on their two legs but by Samurott, the legs are fully grown and stand on all four.
