The author also helped his grandfather in keeping Toto a secret. But the peg couldn't keep Toto in the closet for long time and he came out the closet . He made a mess in the room and by this grandfather and the author realized that Toto was full of mischief.

Grandfather bought Toto from a tonga-driver for a sum of five rupees. The tonga-driver kept the little red monkey tied to a feeding trough and the monkey looked so out of place there that Grandfather decided to add hi to his private zoo.

Toto's presence was to be kept a secret from Grandmother as she always fussed when Grandfather brought home some new animal or bird. He decided to tell her when she was in a good mood. Grandfather and the author put Toto in a small closet opening into the author's bedroom wall, where he was tied securely to a peg fastened into the wall. They thought that this would keep Toto away from Grandmother for the time being.

After sometime when Grandfather and the author came back to release Toto, they found the wallpaper of the walls teared and the brick and plaster was visible. The peg in the wall had been wrenched from its socket and the author's school blazer was shredded. Toto's presence in the house remained a secret for sometime till he was accepted by Grandmother.

Answer - The wind symbolises the difficulties and adversities we have to face in our lives.The various phrases of life are denoted by the harsh wind. The weak and coward will always lose in front of the harsh and ruthless wind. Only the strong and steadfast shall survive and thrive.

Therefore the main idea that the poet, Subramania Bharati, tries to transfer is an inspiration to make our bodies strong and our mind steadfast. We will be able to stand up against the wind only if we make friends with wind, and that is possible only if we build strong houses with firm doors. The weak shall perish.

So we have to be strong, be it mentally or physically. The Wind God tests our mental strength and patience. Harsh winds and storms come suddenly. Similarly the difficulties also come without any prior notice. Hence we have to ready at every point of our life, or we shall be destroyed. Just as the wind blows away after sometime, your bad time too won't last for long.

The poet by using the word Road tells us about how decisions form an entire life of ours from whose result is undetermined until we reach the end.

By using Road as a metaphor he tries to give reader an idea of how different paths of life can transform a better life for one and a disappointed one for another.

Ans. The bakers role in the goan village is not only of great importance but is also a reminder to the elders about, the good old Portuguese days. The baker's presence in the village made the elders reminisce nostalgically and also helped in carrying out the age old traditions of the famous Portuguese loaves of bread.
Everyday the children would wait for the arrival of the baker during morning. They would wait outside and wait for the bread- bangle which was a sweet bread of special make. The children of the village will not only look up to the baker as a companion and guide, but would also think of him as their friend.
Many parties, events or occasions will loose its charm, should there be no bread made by the baker. Everyone in the village respected the baker.
