This pie chart shows the demographic of race and ethnicity at my school, Forest Dale Elementary. This helps me understand where my students come from and their background a little bit better. With this knowledge I can better curate my lessons to fit their cultural differences and similarities.

This a picture of my classrooms Chromebook cart. Each student in the class has their own Chromebook. They use them for each subject during the day and in some of their specials (Library and STEM). By using Chromebooks in the early Elementary stages, it allows for a smoother transition into middle and high school when students will use their computers consistently.

FDE has so many student programs including 4th/5th grade choir, 5th grade musical, Math Bowl, Math Pentathlon, Green Team, Spell Bowl, Student Council, Pups Running, WFDE, Heritage Festival, and the Science Fair (pictured above). This allows students to join extra curriculars outside of their school day that align with their interests.

FDE is one of the few schools in the Carmel Clay District that has an Early Childhood Program. It also provides special education at no cost for children ages 3-5. This is a great opportunity for students who need that extra support and services before they enter into Kindergarten. They have access to speech, occupational, and physical therapists. This can also help students foster relationships with staff before they enter their K-5 educational journey.
