I think the big idea in this book isn't to get hurt because when Speedy Daremouse bulged into Geronimo he was reckless and wasn't thinking.
When Geronimo went out of the hospital and went back home when they drove past the hospital he thought what it was like being in the hospital like he was, and he was just there on normal days but he thought of what it would be like to be in the hospital on a special occasion which was Christmas Eve. So the idea in that part is in order to get respect you need to give respect.

Finished 7th of Feb

Merits of Mischief: The Bad Apple/A Whole World Of Trouble

In the Bad Apple, when Seamus hides the fact that Kilter Academy isn't a normal reform school, that also matches his sneaky personality for going to the 'toilet' on Fish Stick Tuesdays. Another personality of his is a 'Fixed Mindset'. His Fixed Mindset says in his brain that the only way that he's going to get Fish Sticks early is by being excused out of class. Also another personality of his is that he takes along time for him to make decisions. In Kilter, he stayed up to think about whether being in a troublemaking school was good for him, or that if he used these skills in real life they would cause problems. In the book he says "Add or Subtract?". He says this because the way the mechanism works is like this. The more trouble you make you get demerits. Now in normal reform schools demerits are REALLY bad, but at Kilter you use demerits to buy stuff at a shop called the Kommisary. That 'stuff' is gadgets that you use to make trouble. And gold stars are vice versa except they subtract your demerits. Anyway while he was thinking, he wanted to make his parents proud but he also wanted to make Annika(owner of reform school) and to make Ike(his tutor) proud of him. So he took the making Annika Proud path. So he and his friends formed an alliance to take down all of the teachers especially Mr. Tempest.
I used the Comprehension Strategy Make Connections.
Started 8th of Feb (for A World Of Trouble)
Ended 11th of Feb

Started 25th Jan (for The Bad Apple)
Ended 1st of Feb

The Name Of This Book Is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch

Started Reading 15th Feb
Ended Reading 20th Feb
In the book, there are two main characters. Max-Ernest and Cassandra or Cass. Now Cass was prepared for everything, she was a survivalist. She always had her backpack on. In that backpack, all of the contents she needed to survive. She always got away with carrying her backpack to her room. Now when she got away with traveling everywhere with her backpack all the time, she was sneaky or at least I think. And later in the story two kidnappers went off to this spa/fortress to hypnotize innocent people. And one day at school the kidnappers,(Dr. L and Ms Mauvais)kidnapped Benjamin Blake (Cass' and Max-Ernest classmate) and took him to their spa aka The Midnight Sun. Back to her being sneaky, she figured out where the Midnight Sun was and tried to rescue Benjamin. And before that, Gloria (a real estate agent and friend) came to her grandparents house and said in one of the houses she was inspecting there had been a dead magician and a smell of sulfur coming out of the fire station.(Cass' Grandpas were Larry and Wane and they lived in an old fire station) The smell of sulfur led Cass and Max-Ernest to the Symphony of Smells which was the key to finding the Midnight Sun. When Cass left to the Midnight Sun, she literally just left the school. Straight into the fortress. Max-Ernest on the other hand, he had two personalities but later in the story he loses one. Max-Ernest was a coder. Yes, his other personality was well not really a personality but it was a medicational problem. He had a condition that made him talk and talk and talk and you get it. He was restless, Cass was actually proud of him for one second not. He decoded a code and in a second later he was filling up the whole room with volume. I used the strategy Making Connections.

Started Reading 22th Feb
Finished Reading 27th Feb
I am going to use the Strategy Synthesize.
When Cass' mom gets kidnapped, Cass's determination and decisions led her to getting trapped. I think she is very cocky in a way, for example, when Max Ernest says his jokes, she doesn't care. Another reason and personality Cass got trapped that I think is she is a survivalist but, a survivalist never really saves other people.
Cass is also very independent so she never is really comfortable with working with the Terces Society. Also, Max Ernest looks very underestimating. The kidnappers underestimate his skills for capturing his friends. Also he LOOKS very underestimating because he has A LOT of allergies. But that helped him from not being captu red. Also Max Ernest's parents are separated so people that I think people will laugh and underestimate him.

The Strange Case of Origami Yoda

Started Reading 8th March
Finished Reading 8th March
Strat:
Synthesize
Tommy (main character) is very adventurous and curious because when this fantasy of the 'Origami Yoda' being real, Tommy is very intrigued by that question. Tommy has very ignorant friends. First of all, Harvey. Oh Harvey, you wouldn't believe how ignorant this nerd is. If you had to make a point I bet you he would 99.9% make a completely opposite point. Now Dwight. Dwight is a kind of a weirdo but cool like Benjamin Blake (in The Name Of This Book is Secret) basically like a prodigy in a weird way. The prodigy side of Dwight was basically creeping people out getting detention slips for doing that, and 'predicting the future'. That last part might sound crazy but HE is the one that created Origami Yoda. He wears the sock puppet on his finger. Now if you'd believe that he was fake then you'd be on Harvey's side and vice versa. But Tommy discovers that Dwight's right by making a file case and asking people to write stories on how Origami Yoda helped them or not helped them in a good way. And by listening to Dwight they get a huge benefit and Harvey is left alone like a happy ending.
