Be not able to is more formal than can't.
2. Use can't and will not/ won't be able to for negative statements in the future. Notice that not comes before be in the future form.
3. Use could(not) to describe general ability in the past. Was/ were(not) able to is also possible, especially to talk about a particular ability or talent.
4. Use could have+ the past participle to describe situations in which a person had the ability to do something but did not do it.
