It is cultivated as an ornamental plant, but its main use is related to human consumption, as the heart bertalha is used in soups and salads and also to make flour (bread).                                                                                                                 OBSERVATION                                                                                          Anredera cordifolia, is not native to Brazil. It originates from South America, probably Argentina or Uruguay. However, it is an invasive plant in some tropical and subtropical regions, including Brazil, where it can be found growing in the wild.  </p>]]></description>

Its leaves are lanceolate, dark green and shiny, and it produces small red or purple cones. It is a popular ornamental tree in gardens due to its elegant shape and ease of care.
