Hi, I'm Erika and I've been a student here at Island Trees my entire life and have earned and achieved many awards for my past work with ITMMS. I have engaged with many extra curricular activities for this school. I have many leadership skills and already have experience being president for Science Olympiad. I’ve won the Town of Hempstead art contest for COVANTA and also designed the t-shirts for Science Olympiad. I can and I am not afraid to speak in front of large crowds as i already have done many times before. I have already assisted Mrs . Mcnally with ideas for National Junior Art Honor Society and I am on the art committee for sports night and i’m creating the team shirts. 

Art has helped me cope through all of problems in my life. It has helped me express my feelings rather i am sad, happy or mad. I not only express myself through art on paper but through different ways as well such as poetry, performing arts, music, photography and interior design. Interior design is a big skill for National Art Honor Society since we're going to be doing art installations throughout the year. I have grown up with a mother who is a interior designer, so i know a lot of experience with it. 

I also have experience being in charge and talking aloud to large groups of crowds. I choreographed and taught 3 dances to 30 children in a week and also performed in 2 skits over the summer. Last year I volunteered and took charge of the 5th and 6th grade drama. I helped put together and manage the musical. 

   I am responsible and can manage my time well. I am able to think on my feet. I would love to engage more with the National Junior Art Society at a more significant level as it would mean so much to me! I'm a perfect candidate for President. Vote Erika and you will not regret it!
