My most significant learning about this lesson today. Is that there are 3 streams in educational ideologies. And the 2 of those steams are almost very similar with the goals they wanted to have in a child. They wanted the child to develop his/her own personality and perspective and understanding with things and the people. And also Philosophical foundation in education has been catering the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of a child. In order for them to have the experience they would need in order to have the complete development as a child.

Ideologies are important to human experience because they determine how we understand things.

It emphasizes the significance of developing a caring and encouraging atmosphere that respects individual diversity, fosters creativity, and enables kids to explore and take part in play-based activities. Educators can better support the development of young children's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills during their important early years by comprehending and putting these philosophical principles into practice.

BECED-2 SJ1
My own learning about this discussion is philosophical foundations of early childhood education encompass a range of approaches that guide how young children are taught and supported in their development. Some of the key philosophies include constructivism, which emphasizes active learning and exploration; social constructivism, which focuses on learning through social interactions; and the Reggio Emilia approach, which nurtures creativity and project-based learning. Other approaches include the Montessori method, play-based learning, and the consideration of multiple intelligences. Cultural responsiveness and critical pedagogy are also relevant, acknowledging the importance of diversity and critical thinking in early education. Educators often draw from these philosophies or create their own to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners.

Kohlberg and Mayer maintain that only progressivism, with its cognitive-developmental psychology, its interactionist epistemology, and its philosophically examined ethics, provides an adequate basis for our understanding of the process of education.
