I actually need to teach 2 classes which are 2 different subjects. which are 4 ELIT where I would teach the English while 4 DEDIKASI where I would teach them science. it kind of nerve-racking where I am not that particularly have a strong hold of science but based on their text book it actually quite okay as i have the basics. to my surprise, the text books for science are in bahasa which is really hard as I am from dual-language era.

this week also we got a teacher where he was transferred to different place as he got promoted. which is good for him though! the workload during this week are way a lot! as I was assigned to make video for the farewell. it was actually a last minutes work as I was informed like 3 days before the event. so, it was really hectic.

I am quite worried as last week the students does show of low proficiency in their English. but i hope I able to test all four skills this week.

overall, they seems better in listening skills rather than the other three components. while, writing is the weakest for them. reading however seems fair as some able to read better than the rest. speaking seems rank a little bit higher than writing as they are very weak in term of vocabulary.

only three groups able to present this week as the rest are need to present next week. based on their presentation, they do have ideas to present however they do not have words to said it. overall, they do really good!

this week are quite a little bit hectic, as I was putted in a group of decorating the halls. overall, the progressed went smoothly even though it was slowed cause of this month were language month. 

the presentation were resumed from last week. the groups presenting this week, their proficiency were not that good as previous group. but their creativity should give credits as they are really good in their presentation. 

as for science class, the lessons went well. as I am getting used to bahasa in science, as some terms I am not familiar with when it was in bahasa.

the class went well, the students do listen well even though the process were delayed as the students have many questions regarding the lessons. they do have the spirit to learn and trying very hard!

as for the English class, we had fun! I actually really glad that I got this class. they are behaving teens, it just that the are quite naughty. well, it is expected of them to be like that, so i am not surprised. i did teach them using PEEL method for writing essay, they do easily grip the ideas on how to write but they still got a long way to go for having a high marks in writing.

as for science class, we had planned to do presentation next week! i hope that they prepare well. based on their reaction, they were quite excited for it. not going to lie, i also quite excited as how would they present but i do hope all the est for them!

the English class they have no problem at all. all the lesson they do well, especially for listening class and speaking class. i do notice that they had improvement but it just subtle. I hope that they keep up with the improvement.

while for the science class, we held our presentation! I was quite surprised as how well they able to come out with. they are quite creative, with all the power points and videos. I am quite impressed with them, well at some point i do feel a little bit proud that i have such a wonderful students. i do hope they able to stay consistent with their creativity.]]> 2022-09-13 12:40:15 UTC https://padlet.com/kl2001006586/naqiuddinpracticaljournal/wish/2294191669 week 12 kl2001006586 https://padlet.com/kl2001006586/naqiuddinpracticaljournal/wish/2294192052 as for this week, it was hectic. everyone was quite busy with the event. as our beloved Ustazah Faridah was retiring. so, teachers are really busy with the event and also classes. as usual, i am the one handling with the video but this time Farha helps me doing so! she just needed to record the videos from the teachers and students. while, I just need to compile all the videos and made it pretty. during the event, the surrounding are quite solemn for the teacher as Ustazah Faridah are one of the oldest teacher in this school. so, i do understand how for other have attachment with each other. it was a loving scenes to watch the teachers. they also reminded me of my parents, do they feel the same when they retired from their work?

during the English class, the morale of the class are quite down as Ustazah Faridah was their homeroom teacher. plus, they were quite close with each other. I do hope they cheered up. I do notice that several of the students did better this week compare to last week. maybe for next week i tried to focus more towards the others.

while for science class, we actually really near to end our chapter 5 but i think i would slowed down a little bit as I seemed that the chapter are quite heavy and this is a good time to revised back few lessons in chapter 5 as it may help them to have a strong grasp of the lesson better. as for the English class, they had program for two whole day. so, I only able to enter the class on one day only. even on that day, a lot of students did not attend to school. I do miss them though. I do hope I able to meet the rest next week.

as for science class, everything went smoothly. we actually do some quiz today. they do pretty well though. I kind of relieved that they able to. i do hope for the est for them.

I am so excited as many of my students actually join the runs. well, even though we should cheered for our own sport home sports but still, they are my students I would cheered for them. unfortunately, I can't take any pictures as I was assigned to take time for the runners. so, it was kind of bummer though.

for English class, I did not have any classes with them this entire week as the had program for two days and the another day fall on sport day. I do hope they doing okay with their English homework. as next week is their exam week. so, I do plan of doing extra class before their exams.

for science class, quite similar case with my English class though, it just i had two period class with them after the sport day, so many of them are absent. it like I am teaching tuition class. of course i can not complained though but still, kind of miss when everyone are present. however, I do feel like they quite weak on chapter 5 as several of the students were not able to answer some of the questions. so, I make an extra class at night which focus more on chapter 5 to those who want to join. to my surprised, there were way lot of students joined at night than the evening extra class. we end before 11 as the students need to sleep or do their own revision but I do hope all the best for them.

I already got their English paper. there are 3 sets of paper as they have to sit for listening test, paper 1 and paper 2. I just finished marking their listening on Saturday, so I was marking their paper 2 which I finished on Wednesday.

during the observation, the students did pretty well! i was really proud of them. they behave quite well and they listened well. even my mentor was happy with how the class goes.  the observation went for two days straight. I think that the observation went well. oh! i do hope my marks are high.

I would miss my students though. there are lots of memories made with them. well, we like to tease each other. it was fun while it last. both of my class, I would miss them dearly. there are few days next week to say goodbye to them. i hope i does not burst the floodgate. I do hate saying goodbye though.

i do notice that this is the last time I will be writing this journal. during my time with my students I do notice that my weaknesses in teaching but thanks to my students with their patience I am able to improve myself. even though there were 2 failed in English but there were also two A and nine A- while majority are B+ and B. based on my mentor said, there something i did good there. I would be thankful for that.
