I can't believe how smoothly the entire event went! I was worried that some of you might get a little shy when first meeting the students, but you definitely proved me wrong. Every single one of you was engaged and helpful. It made my heart so happy to see all of the smiles in the room. Overall, I don't know that there is much I would change from my perspective. However, I know that some of you noticed a few details in your lessons that could have worked better. Some of you even changed it on the fly, which is exactly what being a teacher is all about! One of my favorite stories from the day is how Matthew chose a "best friend" at each of his stations. This was so awesome because one of our original objectives was to give these students a way to engage with peers of their own age as they are often somewhat isolated in their own class. I hope that if you do see these students in the hallway, you will give them a high-five and say hello.

I didn't expect for everything to go as well as it did. I enjoyed working with them and knowing that they were having fun. I learned that they have different learning abilities and some times you have to cope with them by changing up your lesson. Every last one of them was very smart and impressed me. The best moment was when Derek said that our station was his favorite. Overall this was an fun experience and eye opening for me.

One thing that I would change is the sentences. Some of the sentences we created were plain. If I could do this experience again I would have prepared more creative sentences before the activity. One thing that surprised me was how interactive some of the students were. They loved when you asked them questions. My favorite part of the whole experience was when Matthew asked me to be his bestfriend. I thought it was really sweet and it seemed like he had a lot of fun at our station.

In all honesty, the students in that class have definitely exceeded my expectations and they were all really smart and fun to work with. Everyone had their own qualities about them that differentiated them from others, while making it even more fun and challenging to work with them. This experience was definitely a humbling one, but it also made me realize that while they might appear to be autistic on the outside, on the inside they are just like us and they aren't afraid to be themselves. The only thing that I would change is adding more words to our game so that the students could enjoy our game a little bit longer and so they could gain more knowledge and practice from it.

Working with students with autism was really fun. Having worked with them in the past, I had an idea what'd it be like working with them. However, this experience was different due to the fact that we were teaching them. It kind of opened my eyes to what it's like teaching students with autism. They were very inviting, fun, and most of them were really interactive during the bingo game. For some of the higher level students, the games went by really fast and we sometimes had to come up with statements on the spot to give to them, so that was one thing that threw us off a bit. If I'd be able to, I'd most likely change the size of the bingo board. Overall, It was really interesting hearing the responses from the students in regards to some of the questions we asked them during the bingo game. We would write a question on the board and after they picked the punctuation to go with it, we'd ask them the actual question. This allowed us to get to know them better and that had to be one of the best parts of the whole period. I'd definitely do this again.

We changed things a bit as we went. We started playing with them. Our game was just right because it wasnt to easy or too hard and they 10 minutes was just enough time for our people to finish the game in time most of the time. I was surprised of how interactive the students were and how they were so enthusiastic.

It warmed my heart to see other people be influened and like the activity my group had created for them. I honestly would not change anything, our game went so well Mrs.Smith class loved it. Her kids did so well at picking which word in the sentence had to be capitalized. Some things that surprised me were how isolated they are from other students in the school. Melina, Tida, Derek, Matthew, Thomas, and Jamal were wonderful to work with I would love to do something like this again. A special moment that was really funny was when Derek came back to our station and asked us caould he have one of our game pieces. To me that means he really loved our game and wanted to remember this moment.

If I could go back and change the project I would make some harder words for the spelling bee because some of them flew through the words very quickly and there was still a lot of time left. For most kids, we finished everything in about four minutes so I definitely think we should´ve had about 20. I was surprised by how much some of them had.

Collaborating with Mrs. Smith's class was awesome! The students enjoyed simply reading our paragraphs aside from doing the activity itself. If I had the knowledge that I have now, I would have selected a different topic. While they enjoyed attempting to do our topic, it is difficult to teach how to organize when they don't understand numerical order. I tried simply asking which is in order, 1, 2, 3 or 3, 1, 2 and they could not pick up the numeric order. However, our activity still served a purpose. There were many words that we repeated such as April or paleontologist that they were able to pick up and learn. So, while we were not able to complete our activity, they were able to learn new words and have fun while doing it.

If I could have changed something I would have brought whiteboards, and thought up more words. I would have also added harder words, or maybe add some two syllable words. It surprised me how quickly most of them flew through the words that we had chosen. Even Mrs. Smith said that she was surprised, and didn’t know that some of them knew those words, or even how to spell them. I think it really helped my group when we started out with Mrs. Smith to help us, it paved a way for us to act around the other kids, and help them learn more easily. Some of the kids had more trouble than others when it came to spelling the words, but that was to be assumed. It was still a really amazing experience and I would love to do it again!

One thing I would change is making sure we had the right words to make a complete sentence like (a, it, and, etc). I also thought the 10 minutes was a little too long. We tried to change it up a bit but i think the students like unscrambling the sentences. My favorite part was meeting matthew and seeing how friendly and excited he was about being there.
