One important person at the beginning of sectionalism was John brown. He raided Harper's Ferry in Virginia. he did to arm the slaves with weapons so they could be free, but in the end failed. Significance:This had social impact on the north and south because they where divided on if we was doing the right thing or not.

The Kansas Nebraska act was when (KN) (NE) had became new states and the government was deciding to makes them a Slave or a free state. This lead people to move to these states to vote on making them free or slave states. Significance: This had a political impact because this event lead to violent actions between the north and south, causing further division.

President Lincoln was elected during this election being from the north and against slavery the south did recodnize him as they're president.
