We lived in NYC for 4 years, It was great but it was never home. 
Now we have the opportunity to build a life and body of work.

I had family in Arlington for years and Dallas was often the closest destination for large concert tours etc...But when I was offered a large pay raise in my non-theater career to move here, I realized it was time to leave home for something, anything bigger. I wasn't aware the scene was this big. It's a place you can live affordably and hone your craft at almost any level....and if you're one of the lucky few and diversify your talents, actually make a living in the arts here.
