Question: Briefly describe one cause-and-effect relationship in The Monkey's Paw that stood out to you (for example, what happened after Mr. White made his first wish?). Do you believe tampering with fate always leads to negative consequences? Explain why or why not, using evidence from the story.

One cause and effect relationship in The Monkey's Paw that stood out to be was when Mrs.White begs Mr.White to wish for his son (Herbert) back alive. Tampering with fate could always lead to negative consequences because an effect that happens after wishing Herbert back from being dead is when "Herbert" shows up knocking at their front door.

One cause and effect relationship in The Monkey's Paw is that Mr White wishes for 2 hundred pounds from the monkey's paw after hearing Morris say , wish for something sensible. Tampering with fate could always lead to negative consequences because a visitor came to the White's house to tell them that their son Herbert died. The next day, the 2 hundred pounds that Mr. white wished for, came after Herbert had died.
