 It also seems like Scout isn’t being asked to do stuff with Jem and Dill because she is a girl.  When she found Jem and Dill in the backyard they told her to go away. 

“Will not this yards as much money as it is yours Jem Finch. I got just as much right to play in it as you have.” (P 51)
