We would say that the source is not very reliable because most of the quotes are taken from Jahmal who is the victim. Thats why we think that he is turning everything the way he wants it to, in order to stand in the better light. So the perspective is very limited

A) The writer gets his information from Jahmal himself. He is not reliable due to the fact that he is very subjective. But he is a good source with personal experiences .Additionally he asked other young men and uses statistics to rely on.

B) He mostly quotes direct speeches and opinions of Jahmal. Therefore the writer distances himself and makes it clear that its only the reasons of Jahmal.
By using the word „claims „ he shows that he does not necessarily agree with jahmals opinion

C) He thinks the divison within the community is a huge problem and wants to show that Jahmal is one out of many

The "genitive 's" sounds more like proper English than rather German constructions with the preposition "of". Example: Jamal's reasons vs. reasons of Jamal.

Jahmal “claims that his cousin...”(ll. 14-16)-writer seems to question the incident. There is a lot of direct speech and some reported speech in the article-weiter distances himself from the interviewee, to suggest that Jahmal’s criticism of the police or his opinion on the riots is his own.

The journalist is loyal to his informant, you can see that in line 22, bc he does not publishs the surename and also not picture of jahmal. He provides additional information to undeline that he considers Jahmal to be a representative example of the rioters
