Zoom was a household name and remote Teams worldwide met in tiny digital boxes to work and gesture awkwardly at computer screens (our pets were very confused). Did anyone wonder what might happen if a team gathered in 3D? Would they recognize one another without the screens? How would they know when to mute or unmute? What were the reaction buttons in real life? So many questions. 

Thankfully there was a brave soul who saw the value in a 3D experiment. She envisioned a place where her team could learn, collaborate, and build stronger relationships to achieve shared goals. An Airbnb was booked and the meticulous planning began.  

When the 3D conference commenced it felt like walking into a retreat. The agenda, meals, entertainment, and location had all been selected with exceptional care and consideration. When the dream team arrived, they were absolutely stunned. 

During the conference, the team learned from one another, tackled tough problems, laughed nonstop, cried happy tears, cooked together (without a fire extinguisher), played games, sang kareoke, and saved a kitten. It doesn’t get anymore epic than that. ♥️

This was NOT that! 

Wow! The training was on point. Sessions were just long enough to keep my attention. Had opportunities to use Post-it Notes to write down our biggest takeaways and reflection moments (this was great to help solidify what I learned and super fun too!) 

And the food! Whattttt?!? Talk about some phenomenal home cooking! The pozole was something you'd find in the heart of Mexico cooked by a Spanish grandmother! It just warmed your soul. Would have liked to have had non-chocolate croissants; but for the most part, the finger foods were great!

The retreat was DEFINITELY NOT a waste of time. Good times were had by all! Would recommend it to others.

Starting with the welcome I received at the airport and a short ride to the Burien Training Center. It was apparent the branch and training center are kept in tip top shape! 

Once arriving to the beautiful TA&D Home for the week I was shown to my own room! The room was spotless and had ample closet and work space along with luxurious bedding and extras in the closet. The house had the perfect mix of common and private areas. After settling in we were treated to a pasta and salad bar! There were plenty of snacks and beverages to enjoy for the rest of the evening as we played games and socialized before heading to bed to get ready for our first big conference day! 

The conference days were filled with impressive presentations from each team member, important discussion and reflection topics. Unique awards and prizes were given out and the team really connected on a new level. Everyone was so engaged and mentally present. The vibes were immaculate! 

Breakfast and lunch options were endless! An authentic Mexican pozole stew and homemade (by the team!) tortillas was a great ending to an amazing conference day. Angie and Tami were so accommodating and really cared that everyone felt comfortable and safe in this space. 

A few of us ended the week visiting the Admin building and putting faces to names of people I've talked to or known about since starting with the company! I felt very honored to be able to tour the facility. 

I see nothing but great things for TA&D(E) and Moneytree in 2023. I had mentioned "Scenario Based Learning" during our social time the night before, so Tami pushed me to lead an impromptu discussion. Usually, I would feel highly stressed or anxious because I had zero time to prepare/plan. But because we had such an engaging and collaborative day the day before, I felt my creative juices flowing. The discussion was so successful that I could see everyone reaching the same creative place I was in during an activity.
