Pre-primary education plays a critical role for the future of education and moreover for the development of the Country. Human Index data are far much higher in Country whereby pre-primary education is qualitative and accessible.

Pre-primary is fairly supported by public expenditure, so it is necessary to create awareness around the importance of investing in Early Childhood Education and specifically in pre-primary. 

The stakeholders involved in the provision of preprimary education should therefore create all the possible actions to inform and allow the population to participate, at different level, in the ECE provision. Parents should be involved in education components and in organizational activities, families should support the pre-primary settings, and the citizens should be aware of what is happening in the environment.

Caritas Switzerland in Kosovo worked steadily in this direction, as it has proposed actions at all levels, from children (creation of school environments) to teachers (capacity building), from quality assurance coordinators to officers and university professors. 

The action proposed in this workshop is aimed at improving the awareness at municipal level of the work under development in pre-primary, and to create the conditions for a better understanding of the importance of a childhood-culture.

 

Specific objective and take-away

In order to create the so-called childhood-culture, Caritas Switzerland in Kosovo proposes a workshop to create an instrument (a newsletter or a “fanzine”), to communicate pre-primary issues in each municipality interested.

A consultant will support the development of the project, the methodology of work and the redactional design.

A graphic designer will support the development of a template to be used for further issues of the newsletter. 

 

 

Methodology

The workshop will start by analyzing the stakeholders of the pre-primary education. What are their information needs, the potential, feasible frequency of communication, the messages expected and those mandatory.

Further to this analysis, a set of messages will be proposed, and a zero version will be created for each municipality.

Canca, a specific free app was used to deal with graphic design, under the supervision of the consultant, and a panel for the sharing of all of them will be created (the current padlet).
