Have you seen how youth participants benefit from cheerleading activities on multiple levels? Since your child has begun participating in cheerleading, have you noticed an increase not only in their physical capability but also their mental and emotional development? As a CheerTD staff member, I have personally seen the positive impact that cheer has left in the staff and me from my adolescent years of cheering and competing in the sport.

My kids have lived in Crocs all summer. They hate wearing socks....they want something that they can just slip on and go. And I don't blame them. I have a pair of Toms that I have fallen in love with that I just slip on, with no socks. I literally wear them everywhere. I was thinking of getting them a pair of Toms each. For DD4, they would be $29. For DD7, they would be $38. Plus shipping. I know those are probably really good prices but I'm fairly cheap when it comes to kids shoes LOL.

 

But with summer coming to a close, the Crocs won't work all the time. I know we are in Florida, but it does cool off eventually LOL. And DD7 seems to get dirty feet due to the holes in the sides of the Crocs. She has to clean her feet upon coming home.

 

The Toms are meant to be worn without socks. Or I could get them a pair of slip on Vans that could be worn with socks. But they really don't like socks.

 

So how much do you spend on shoes for your kids?

The National Association of Secondary School Principals stated that, “When all students are wearing the same outfit, they are less concerned about how they look and how they fit in with their peers; thus, they can concentrate on their schoolwork.” [15] A study by the University of Houston found that elementary school girls’ language test scores increased by about three percentile points after uniforms were introduced. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton advocated school uniforms as a way to help students focus on learning: “Take that [clothing choices] off the table and put the focus on school, not on what you’re wearing.” [30] Chris Hammons, Principal of Woodland Middle School in Coeur d’Alene, ID, stated that uniforms “provide for less distraction, less drama, and more of a focus on learning.” [70]
