         <description><![CDATA[<div>On&nbsp; Nov 8, 2016 the Social Studies teachers will be trying a new type of staff development. The topic is Reading Like a Historian. We will be using a Tackk where each of you will be able to access the interactive Tackk post and complete your staff development on your time. There will be&nbsp; interactive elements that you will answer.&nbsp; Your answers will be stored to a spreadsheet. When you have finished all the activities you will receive your CEUs 2.5. I will be at Central Office if you want to come together and work with others or you can&nbsp; arrange to work together at your school. The url for the site will be sent to you on October 8 in the AM. Let Dr. Blakebrough know how you will be working on your staff development. YOU WILL HAVE UNTIL 11/11/16 TO FINISH.</div><div>Maximum # CEU’s:             .2,5</div><div>Description:                         The Social Studies Department will be experimenting with an online lesson on Reading Like a Historian. Teachers will learn the strategies to teach their students to scaffold the reading of primary documents. Teachers will access the site and work their way through the activities. Teachers have the option of working on their own time, meeting as a group and working through the lessons together or coming to Central Office to work through the lesson with Dr. Blakebrough. You get to choose. Teachers will answer questions as they progress through the Tackk that will be saved to a data base. When they finish all the activities they will receive their CEUs.
