         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>6. the ending: why does the narrator go down to her grandmother in the middle of the night?</strong></div><div>Because the narrator (Lin) feels that something is wrong</div><div><br></div><div><strong>7. The title: What does it imply?</strong></div><div>Chinese culture is very “loud”, the episode where the father hits her is a very aggressive (loud) and extreme situation. (Page 66 line 19 - 24) This episode can describe how strict the chinese culture can be.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><em>“How can you be so fearless! Going out with a white boy!”</em> - an example of how they find it disrespectful to their tradition. She can’t date a non-chinese boy.&nbsp; &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>“Talked” is in the past. Maybe the grandmother was her only connection to chinatown.&nbsp;</div><div>Her experience with chinatown is very bad, because it is very loud.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><strong>8. He does not try to solve the problem or talk it out, he just slaps her in the face (p 66 l.19-24). “ My father walks up to me, his eyes are wide with anger, and he slaps me on the face.. I am left alone for the rest of the night.&nbsp;</div><div>2. He talkes and she listens - onesided ( p 62 l 13 - “Actually Todd talks and i listen” ) it makes her feel good when the other girls look at them together(p 62 l. 11 ).- ...It makes me feel good when they turn&nbsp; to look at us walk down the hall together.
