As a contributor to the Republic of Indonesia Kaleidoscope Cultural Guide, I would display 11 categories of Indonesian culture, cuisine, fashion, music, art, architecture, literature, religion, folklore, manners/etiquette, festivals, and entertainment with a digital format, allowing the accessibility to everyone. This Kaleidoscope Cultural Guide intends to preserve the uniqueness of Indonesian culture. With the intensification of globalization, respectively cultures tend to be overpowered.
The Republic of Indonesia is located off the Southern coast of mainland South East Asia amongst the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The Indonesian archipelago, the world's most immense archipelago state, comprises over 17,000 islands.
Due to Indonesian exotic spices, the Republic of Indonesia exchanged many resources with other nations. The ancient trade between Indonesia and the Far East and the Middle East resulted in numerous cultural impacts on the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia is known for its cultural diversity. Moreover, the nation encompasses cultures from other nations, namely, the Kingdom of Thailand, the People's Republic of China, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and the Kingdom of Cambodia, and in like manner. Albeit the Republic of Indonesia had been impacted by other nations and is known for its cultural diversity, the country still possesses its own unique culture. In the Age of Exploration, Indonesia's major trade was with India. Piles of evidence indicate India’s presence both before and during the Age of Exploration. A source, Verma, Deepti, indicates India’s presence in the 200th BC. As a global community, if we preserve sufficient cultures on online contributors, share traditions, and offset the negative effects of globalization

The Pasola festival is a sacrificing human premise. Two villages would send many warriors to join the war game. During the days between six to eight after the full moon, the Western Sumba forms the spawning ground for billions of Nyale worms. The coming fortunes of the year would be deciphered by the geometric patterns or colors of the Nyale. The villagers assemble in a field beside the beach as the armed riders arrive, disposed of for this bloody war game. All of the locals would compile the Nyale with their containers. Then, the Nyale would be fried and served. The chantings of "Layla" would then would be descanted by the villagers.
The war game finally commences. The combatants are authorized to bring a dozen of spears. The combatants form opposing circles or lines. When signaled, the combatants would aim to throw the spears to strike the opponents. Many say a Pasola does not end until blood is seen on the field. Oftentimes, the Pasola ends when there is a full-scale riot overwhelming the field. The Tau Humba (locals in Sumba) believes that the sacrifice would fertilize the crops in the future. The casualties would be left on the field, as the other warriors head back home.

Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih are half-sisters who are polar opposites of each other. Bawang Merah is slothful and spoiled by their mother. Surprisingly, Bawang Putih is obedient, and diligent and does all the chores without protesting. On a laundry day in the river, Bawang Putih loses a scarf, which is found by an old woman. The old woman claims she will return the scarf on the condition of Bawang Putih cooks and cleans it for her. Bawang Putih does as she's told, and gets the scarf back. The aged woman tells her to select a small or a large pumpkin. Bawang Putih picks the smaller pumpkin. When she cracks open the pumpkin after she returned home, she discovers the fruit is loaded with jewelry. Bawang Merah and their mother were envious and are determined to get their own pumpkin filled with jewelry. They arrived at the river and deliberately lose their scarves. Then they visit the old woman’s cottage and request a pumpkin. They carry home the large pumpkin, but instead of jewelry, their large pumpkin was filled with snakes. This classic Indonesian folklore has been adapted to into numerous stage plays, movies, and so on.

The folklore sets at Air Manis Beach in Padang, West Sumatra. Malin Kundang is a dedicated and obedient young man. He travels to another nation to provide financial support to his mother. Many years had gone by, and Malin Kundang had come back. He had become an affluent and high-class man. He became vain and refuses to associate with his mother. Angrily, his mother prayed for him to be transformed into a stone.
The tale "Malin Kundang" is quite comparable to the folktale "Batu Menangis" (translated as the "Crying Stone"), though they still differ. The main character, Batu Menangis in the folktale Batu Menangis, is a spoiled girl who even asserts that her mother is her maid. Then, her mother prayed to God to transform her daughter into a stone.

Javanese Gamelan has a soft and slower tone (creating a peaceful mood), while Balinese Gamelan has a faster and more dynamic tone (creating a vigorous mood). In the 14th century, the natives from the middle east introduced the religion of Islam into Indonesia. The natives who desired to remain Hindu were exiled to Bali, and others remained in Java. This was the start of the Bali-Java split, where Balinese gamelan originated, which is also when where the fall of the Majapahit empire began. The Majapahit time period is seen as the Bali Aga ancient period in Balinese history. Balinese gamelan heavily evolved today through both Western, and modern Indonesian influences.

He had only lived in Jakarta for a short period. After centuries of Dutch colonialism, suddenly the Japanese were in charge. They justified their presence by indicating the importance of Asian unity. Indonesian nationalists, who had been actively suppressed by the Dutches, now enjoyed more freedom.
Themes: One of the most noticeable themes is Individualism. Chairil Anwar analogizes himself to a wild animal from the second stanza, expressing the idea that he chooses his own path.
Icon of Indonesian Poems: After Indonesia became independent between 1945 and 1949, Aku evolved to be Anwar’s well-known work.
