My name is Dinga. At first, I am the one who is passionate about learning a new thing that I want to study. I was born in Kalaymyo. I have two brothers and two sisters and I am the most handsome among all of us.😆My grandmother gave me the name ‘lalrodinga’ that express the lord Jesus kingdom will forever stand and stay at me. So, I thank my grandmother for giving me a wonderful name. She is one of the important persons in my heart.

Kalaymyo is the place where I want to live because it is my significant town. I like the environment and the society in which the people are so friendly, open-minded and help each other’s. And there are a lot of resources to improve and catch up the opportunities for human capacity. The education established better learning spaces such as English language schools, high technology training centers, computer training centers, LCCI, other vocational training centers and many private high schools and universities in Kalaymyo. The reason why I describe my town situation a little is to honor my native town and be proud to. My parents were born in a small village, Letpanchaung village, Kalaymyo. But our historical village is Bochung village, Falam in that our grand-grandparents passed away. Since my parents served as a pastor, it has been longed for 15 year services. So, we transfer from one place to another place that why I own many homes address. I am mostly staying in Sanmyo, Kalaymyo with my relatives.

In conclusion, I am happy to write such a life story. So that to deserve there will be a person who is as perfect as perfect enough. I want to be just a good man.😊

Chapchar Kut

The Chapchar Kut is a festival especially for Mizo people held on 6 March annually during the period of cutting down the trees and bamboos. It is based on the agricultural cycle of stages meaning three different kinds of seasons: rainy, winter, summer. It is also called the Spring festival and one day long festival. The Chapchar Kut is celebrated with great favour and gaiety by the crowd. During the festival, there is a kind of Christian cultural practice like drinking rice beer. So, we can do as we like to drink such practice but that is not compulsory. We can say there are three parts to this festival. The first, the very morning time of the day, was held as an opening ceremony with the honorable persons and the people. Second, at afternoon and evening time, we all need to participate in various items such as different kinds of competitions like culture boxing, culture dances, volleyball and others which are available for anyone involved. Third,at night the concert is held in the Chapchar Kut festival.

Bai

It is one of the most popular dishes for Mizo. The name was originally named by Mizo. The key factor of this dish is that it is a combination of several herbs and spices and cook with string beans and edible ferns. The main ingredients include pork, bamboo shoot and some vegetables. It is kind of boiling vegetable. With chilly, the dish is completely perfect. Bai is one dish that you will find very easily in Mizoram. Some even consume this as a soup. And some household also use it for curry. Especially as for me, our family uses often to take having this dish in our meals. When we are eating this 'Bai', we are absolutely satisfied. Bai is easy to make for everyone so we almost make it at our respective time for a meal, but not for sale in a restaurant or somewhere hopefully. The taste is quite delicious and always a little bit spicy. This is also one of the most favorite foods in my culture.

I was born in Hakha. I live with my family in Hakha, Chin State, Myanmar. After I passed matriculation exam, our neighbor, grandpa encouraged me to attend Bachelor of Arts in English language studies at Chin Christian University(CCU). Therefore, I went to CCU in July, 2016.

When I was at Chin Christian University, I was really happy. Before I went there, I hated schools. In my first year, there were many students in my class. But most students moved to another college. So, I was the only female left in our class. However, my classmates and teachers are so good at communication. Even though I was not good at communication, they made me happy the whole years. I liked how they communicated. Then, we became friends with teachers. Sometimes, we skipped classes and hung out.

At first, I went to CCU for grandpa encouraged me. But now, I love that school and teachers. At last, we could make for four years happily.

Long time ago, the Chin people celebrated Tho Festival which was New Year for the Chin people. It was celebrated on the moon full day in October. This festival was celebrated to give meal to dead people whom were loved because people wished they were with them. The Chin people believed in goddess at that time. They were not Christian.

However, most of the Chin people believe in God, Jesus, nowadays. They are Christian, now. Therefor, they celebrate Tho festival only for New Year, not for giving meal to dead people. On that day, New Year, people dance different kinds of culture dances. Interestingly, they cook “Sathluak: pork and rice are mixed”.

I mentioned "Sathluak" before, on festival story. It is one of the Chin foods. It is made with rice which should be over cooked (sticky) and pork. Mostly we can have it on Chin National Day, on Tho Festival, and on Fun fete. It is kind of food: rice and curry which are we usually have for breakfast, lunch and diner every day. I really like it because it makes me full easily without eating too much.😅

I went to Chin National Day with my friends in 2019. We ate "Sathluak". Unfortunately, one of my friends could not eat it because she did not eat pork.

I was born in HaKha, Chin state which is located in western Myanmar. Hakha is the capital city of Chin State. This place is a very admire full place. The people are also kind and patient. Long time ago, people were cooking with fire and service by doing faming, hunting. So hunting has become one of our cultures. Almost every men can hunt with our culture gun which is made by them self. As now the country have more developed, we can cook easily with electric and get electric regularly. Women are shuttled with loom and this is one of our culture. Our culture clothes are also very beautiful and very artistic. As we are Christians, I usually go to church at Sunday morning. I volunteer at a church school teacher also and I am happy with it. Almost every young people are at church school at Sunday. Today, although I am Chin but I wound like to share about some Burmese culture.

As many people have different cultures or festivals, we will excite to know what they are. Water festival is one of my country's festivals. Every people can include in this festival. There is no limitations like religion, different ethnic and living standards. They celebrate it at April 13 to 16. Long time ago, the King had it consecrated by Buddha himself and let the people pour the scented water on the image. So they called it water festival because people are pouring with water. Water festival has the meaning of cleaning blames and welcoming Myanmar new year. We celebrate it widely in Nay Pyi Daw which is the capital city of Myanmar and Yangon which is crowded. If you visit Myanmar, I would like you to recommend to hold water festival in Myanmar. And also I would like you know about "Mont lone Yay Baw" which is a kind of food.

"Mont Lone Yay Baw" is one of my favourite festival foods. It is a traditional Burmese dessert commonly associated with the Thing Yan season(Myanmar new year). The dessert dish consists of round boiled rice balls made from glutinous rice flour and filled with pieces of jaggery or palm sugar, and garnished with fresh coconut shavings. The colour is white and have a small circle shape. I like to eat it because it is rared to eat, we ate it once in a year. Many people like it because it's sweet and easy to chew. As Thing Yan season is April 13 to 16, we can get Mont Lone Yay Baw in every where who are Burmese. I ate it when I attended first year at the university, we made it with my classmates and with our teachers who are Burmese. So, whenever I eat Mont Lone Yay Baw, it reminds me of "my university life". So if you have not tried for this festival food, I am sure you would like it.
